About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

Reviews
A little rough around the edges and seeing 3-4 enemies repeatedly use overwatch to prevent me from moving to the extraction zone without getting killed gets a bit tiresome. Overall it's fun so far and very much brings back familiarity with the X-COM2 feel. Needs more polishing and tuning but this is 1.0 so I expect they will most likely get there. If you don't want to deal with the rough edges, I suggest waiting for it to mature a bit.
Dialogue lines are so cheesy feels like an old vhs action movie. there are some launch bugs but firefights are solid enough

Parasını an itibariyle hak etmiştir.
My main issue with this game so far was being tossed into a rescue mission with odds that were beyond sane. Also I missed way more 70%+ attacks too frequently. The Rescue mission sounds simple on paper, save 9/18 civilians, easy right? Nope, every 2 turns there are mobs 3-4 units of enemies that show up. Also one of the civilians was disguised? Like wth, why make it seem like a rush to save civilians just to have the person I sent, get stabbed on the spot, and in the same turn insta killed by said knife attacker who was disguised. The game plays like a beta with too many annoyances and not enough information provided. I tried to enjoy the game and give it a chance, just don't waste your time or money.
Xcom if you swap the aliens for Africans... Infuriating rng on hits and a frequent crashing issue... Maybe a half price game? Maybe? Fun yes but not full price.
If you're already looking at this game it's because you like games like this, like XCOM and Jagged Alliance. Why are you reading reviews? Just buy the game already, zero regrets.
Oh yeah sexy girls in short shorts is exactly why we love tactical games about real warfare lol. But seriously though the game is pretty enjoyable. Idk how many hours of content it actually has but I definitely know what I'm doing for the next couple of evenings
The “it's just XCOM” reviews made me laugh. By that logic every turn-based tactical game is XCOM. Yes, the basic vocabulary is familiar. Grid, cover, AP, overwatch. But the way those systems interact is different enough that I don't feel like I'm playing XCOM 2 again.I actually launched XCOM 2 after playing this for a few hours to compare. They feel different.
