About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

You could honestly list a million reasons to skip this game: the UI is a mess, the camera goes totally wild when you aim, and the cheesy action movie lines look like they were written before I was even born... But the only thing that actually matters is that the tactical gameplay is just pure fun. I seriously recommend it
As a strategy vet Warhounds feels kinda too easy and lacks deep tactics for my taste. But i gotta admit that everything together plays pretty nice and the game flow is decent. Had one crash during a contract which was super annoying but the autosave works perfectly so i didnt lose any progress. Havent seen any other big bugs Gonna keep playing and wait for some balance fixes, can recommend if u dont need a super hardcore challenge.
It's not perfect, but damn I can't put it down.
OG XCOM/JA player. This feels like it is to Jagged Alliance as XCOM 2 is to X-COM. Trades some crunch for smooth. And unlike JA/XCOM, I have not missed any contact shots, so overall enjoyable as of a dozen hours in. As of release, I have encountered just one bug, which was mostly my fault (I managed to fail the mission in a way so stupid they hadn't anticipated it) and the Devs responded within the hour on Discord to help me out. Net positive -- all games have some glitches at release, not all Devs handle them so well.
Great game for fans of the X-Com: Enemy Unknown combat system.
Honesty.. its a pretty game, at first I was struggle until I found that out that you caN SELL ♥♥♥♥ TO THE BLACK MARKET. Workshop would be nice
This is the kind of game where you tell yourself: “I'll just play one mission” Forty minutes later: “Okay, one MORE” And then you realize it's 2 AM and your sniper has somehow become emotionally important to you. The actual tactical combat is the strongest part. It feels deliberate without being overly complicated - not perfect, but definitely promising.
Warhounds to, czasami wręcz do bólu, zrzynka z XCOM 2.
