Helluva CRPG.
Rogue Trader is a gritter, less polished version of Bladurs Gate 3 - and that is what is great about it! Warhammer 40K is not some fantasy setting where the possibilities are endless. It is a terrifying hellscape where death is inevitable and the possibilities are limited to how horrifically you die. The game is not fully voice acted, so be prepared for a lot of reading. Its mechanics are also somewhat confusing even after 30 hours of gameplay - like you have an idea how the bonuses and abilities interplay but you are never really sure. All in all it is a very authentic WH40K experience 8/10 as a CRPG 10/10 as heresy and your sentence is death

Although this game is no Baldur's Gate 3 (they really outdid themselves); Rogue Trader is still a top tier RPG where you play as the Rogue Trader who must stop heretics, mutants and xenos while traveling the stars. In terms of gameplay it's fairly enjoyable if not somewhat repetitive but what RPG isn't? The game starts you out with fairly limited options but after the first act you'll then proceed to space combat and eventually colony management. Pros: Lots of great options in terms of play style. Choices matter and affect downstream events Interesting and enjoyable follower characters Space combat and ship customization is cool Engaging story with tons of lore Cons: Space combat is somewhat limited. You can't control your escort fleet Some builds kind of are hurt by low int/persuasion/coersion/etc... when passing difficulty checks Augments feel kind of weak, and the jump ability felt terrible since you can't jump up/down levels with it Some misc bugs. Like incorrect percentages shown or missing enemies who are higher or lower on the battle map Very easy to min/max the game. I typically use RT/Abelard/Argenta/Yrielet/Cassia/(Kiballah/Pascal)

Even for non-warhammer fans, this is a great crpg with lots of choices, consequences, builds, and interesting companions. My one gripe is that the RPG system is a little unweildy and has too many choices
