Made in a close partnership with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a story-rich classical RPG from Owlcat Games, developers of the critically acclaimed game, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 27.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 31.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Begin your adventure aboard your personal, giant voidship, traveling between the multitude of systems within the Koronus Expanse, a barely charted and incredibly perilous region of space. Despite being considered a backwater of the Imperium, this region encompasses an enormous stretch of the void, filled with dangerous creatures and prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration.

Rogue Traders never travel alone. Gather your retinue of righteous heroes, twisted psykers, and perfidious xenos. All of them are ready to follow you into the darkness between the stars. They will offer you counsel, aid you in battle, and allow you to amass ever more power. In return, you can guide them through their own personal journeys, changing their destinies forever.

During quests show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the God-Emperor, or consort with enemies of Mankind - your every decision and every act, even in character creation, is changing the in-game open world and those who inhabit it.

Slaughter the enemies of Mankind in a fully-fledged isometric turn-based tactical combat. Take advantage of cover, the environment, and careful positioning to overpower your enemies. When that is not enough - use your companion`s powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle and achieve victory even in the direst of situations. Our video game adaption of the classic Rogue Trader ruleset allows an enormous number of possibilities for you to explore.

I expected better. I've enjoyed other RPGs from Owlcat very much. Rogue Trader was overwrought, didn't do a good enough job as introducing its mechanics, and many of the puzzles were poorly written so as to break your roleplay to continue, or required a thing you no longer had access to (I'm looking at you Melta-Charges). I reached an blockade I couldn't get around, and locked me out of the rest of the game. So I uninstalled.
if you look in the patch notes you will see "we added our own launcher" and the very next update "we heard you didn't like it so we removed it" i dont need to play the game to know that these are great devs,
If I could, I would give a neutral score to this game. After all, it kept me mostly entertained for 50 hours, which is pretty good. As someone who is not a Warhammer fan and came here with limited knowledge of the universe, I will leave my thoughts here. 1) I think the Prologue is very good. It has some really good moments and immediately sucked me in. Both the choices that you can make and the epicness of the setting immediately came through, coupled with the voice acting, it is a great experience. (At the end, when I found out that most of the game won't be voice-acted, I felt somewhat cheated ngl, but thank god for mods. An AI voiceover is better than nothing imo. + They could have easily added an AI narrator at least.) 2) The first chapter of the story continued this, and although I felt it to be somewhat weaker, it was still very good and epic. 3) As the second chapter came around, it started to get a bit hit and miss for me. The endless loading screens, ship battles, planet-scanning, colony management, useless little planet adventures — although not hard, it started to get really tedious. I have to ask, why were these things all implemented... to stretch the game for the advertised 120-hour experience? I would much rather they scrapped most of this and spent a few more dollars on doing more voiceovers. 4) The third chapter is where I called it quits. You basically get your character turned into an agentless, weak, pathetic person, which is really strange to me. Like, yeah, sorry, I came for the Rogue Trader stuff, not the Diddy prison simulator. At this point, I just went on the internet to see if it would get better, and from what I gleaned from it, chapters 4 and 5 seem more of a downturn. So yeah, that's that. - Some design choices I don't understand: Why is the inventory management so frustrating? Why are so many skills so weak? Why not have fewer skills but better balance? Why do you need to waste space with this planet-scanning stuff? It was alright in Mass Effect, but why would you implement it here? Space battles are great, but why are they so easy and similar? You do one or two and you've already seen it all. Why are side quests so few and so unimaginative most of the time? I wish some companions could have shined more. If you go through the trouble to create some really great and different individuals, why are you scared to give them a bit more agency? - The universe lets this game down. As I said, I did not come here as a Warhammer fan, and I won't be leaving as such. But when it comes to the franchise, in my opinion, it really shines when you have the epic battles, a goal to kill and destroy, make a last stand, or save something or someone. But beyond that, what a shallow waste of space this franchise is. I must admit, I don't think the writing is the biggest letdown in this game. I think there is simply nothing more that you can achieve in this universe. Everything is dark and bleak (to be expected; some of the planets are nice to switch it up), we have infinite war, infinite resources, characters which are so utterly overpowered that you have to turn off your brain to make things work, factions who can never overcome each other and are forced to maintain the status quo for millennia. When it's epic, it rocks, yeah, no question about it. But when it's not epic? What then? I miss those RPGs which at least try to have some deeper meaning and message behind them, so when the journey is over, you have gained something.
it is great, but the story is hard to follow, the gampeplay is good, combat is good, it is much harder to follow than wrath of the righteous. It is just not for me I guess
goodest game ever
Good story, good characters. Ship combat isn't my favourite but everything else was great.
