Amazing game! Being new to the Warhammer universe, I was a bit overwhelmed with the character creation and the first level-ups, but that was kind of expected (I had the same feeling in Baldur's Gate 3), but I just ended up chosing a pre-made character, which is thankfully an option. For the story it was mostly fine to understand, because specific words were explained in tooltips. I'm sure I missed a lot of details though :D I liked the story and the choices, there was always something to do, and I also liked the combat. Despite the length, there was a lot of variety in the environments, companions stories and quest. I wish there was more voice-acting though. The parts that are there are great! I didn't mind the reading, but the voices added even more atmosphere. One thing that got annoying in the end was many loading screens. Not a problem for most of my 160 hours (I played with the first 3 expansions), because there's enough to do between them, so it's not that noticable. But for me it became annoying shortly before getting to the point of no return (which you are thankfully warned about), when I searched all star systems again for stuff I might have forgotten or delayed earlier, or things that newly came up.
作为一个锤粉来说这个真的夯爆了!
One of the best games in its kind and certainly one of my favourites.
Highly highly highly recommend this game, speaking personally as a Warhammer Lore Master, I would state that the sense and scale narrowed down to a pure story about the "Rogue Trader" both contain rich, and incredibly detailed residings of the lore as a whole. No prior knowledge required about the franchise, as it's represented in a way which makes it easy too understand. The combat is both rich and powerful, making it very easy to "ramp" through the levels, and the possibility to adjust the difficulty level during the gameplay, saves difficult encounters. Overall, I highly recommend this game for anyone that's looking for a great game to play!
Восхитительное приключение, с большим миром и проработанной историей, куда можно полностью погрузить с головой. Этот мир возьмет все твое свободное время, без остатка и не отпустит до самого конца.
tl;dr: highly recommend, one of the best game I've ever played period. First off, the hero being truly Someone from the get go, with huge responsabilities on his shoulders, is quite a unique setup which hooked me straight up. It doesn't feel like you're following a straight storyline path at all, there's multiple stuff happening all the time and you do what interests you first which even lead to consequences sometimes. There's alot of side quest that do not feel boring to me whatsoever, the lore is immaculate from 40k, storywise 10/10 I only am on my first playthrough but it really seems that choices matter, and if not it's really well sold. I quite enjoyed the alignment aspect as well, between dogmatic, iconoclast, or heretic. I played as one of them and stuck to it, even when the choices stung sometimes, and I found that really fun. The dizzying depth of this game's character specialization system is really cool to me, but if you don't like it just check online there's stuff I used on the companions I don't have in my main comp that is quite solid (revan619's seems to be the reference) Now obviously at that point you understand that I really like the game but it's not perfect either, like everythig it has some flaws, here's a list from the top of my head: - most cutscene are a bit too slow - combat is great but sometimes feel awkward on certain setup, on line of sight that you missred, e.g. or certain grid which feel worse than others - trap system feels unecessary sometimes and can be tedious, but that's minor - the combat camera feels clunky, especially on fights where there's long distance and/or elevation. It tend to jump back alot to your character during animation which can be frustrating, especially on sniper shots where you don't even see the result of your shot sometimes - with a good build you can one shot easily, i'm playing a pyro psyker as my MC and it needs to play with already burning enemy, but most of the time my burning skills one shot the guy \_(^-^')_/ - not really a negative but more a warning: there's a lot of reading to do, if you're not into that, this game ain't for you - i'm not sure about the trade system, I mean It can create frustration because some of the loot that would have really interested me are gated behind faction reputations that I would rather not go for lorewise, but that's really a minor thing final comment/advice DLC wise: you don't have to get them for the start of the playthrough, i'd advise to play the first chapter (which is great, but just more linear than the next ones) and decide from here because the DLCs have close to zero impact on chapter one (at most it delays the content). As I'm writting this review i'm not done at all with the game so i can't give feedback on all of them because some impact you're playthrough later than others, but I can already tell you: - "void shadows" is a no brainer, it gives the game alot of content on your ship itself which would be lacking otherwise, I just didn't like the companion the game gave you with it, too strong for my taste. so great lore okay new mechanics - "The infinite museion" starts strong and the companion is quite unique I like it alot so far, and it gives a new feature which is really good aswell and on par with the lore. both lore and mechanics are good - "Lex imperialis" I can only talk about the mechanics of it, the new class and weapons is cool but not game changing, for the lore It seems from other reviews that it's much more poor than the other two I can say for myself. If you wanna skip one I'd suggest this one but i bought all three and will buy the last one without any hesitations once it comes out.
its good
TL;DR: 9/10 — A fantastic classic party RPG with great characters, story, and art, let down by a long-standing ending bug that cuts companion epilogues. Loved it, got briefly furious with it, still love it enough to replay it. Pros: Nice gameplay, engaging combat Great characters Fine story Beautiful graphics and art style ~90 hours of content that's genuinely worth it Cons: Can feel boring at times (played on Normal) Companion ending slides bug — still not fixed after 3 years Heads up: A lot of reading required — not a flaw, just know what you're getting into. A game that made me fall in love for 90 hours and hate it for 15 minutes. Nothing in between. Nice gameplay, despite being sometimes boring (played on Normal), great characters, a fine story, and beautiful graphics and art style. A lot of reading is required, but I still wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who loves classic party RPGs. BUT. For some reason, I got no companion slides in the ending. Imagine caring for your companions, wanting to know how their story ends, and getting nothing. It's apparently some bug, and the game is so good I'm willing to start a second playthrough immediately, trying to reach the proper ending — but the fact that such a critical thing hasn't been fixed in 3 years is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I was unable to think of anything positive for a good half hour because of it. But the game is still worth every minute I've spent on it, and every minute I will spend on it in the future. Chart your course, Rogue Trader — the Koronus Expanse is waiting for you too.
I have not been this immersed in an RPG in ages. And I am not even deep into Warhammer 40K. Granted, you need patience to read A LOT. And all the many talents are a bit too detailed. But the way this world comes to life is really impressive. I played with the first 3 Story DLC. Especially the third is really cool and the companion from the first DLC is one of my favourites. I will likely play through it all again, when the final story DLC comes out. This time I was a "nice" Rogue Trader (Iconoclast) and I was amazed by the many, many dialogue options I could have chosen at many points. Don't like that one member in your retinue? Just go to the Inquisition guy and tell him to take care of the Heretic! Bam. If you wanted to, people can be thrown out the airlocks left and right. Brutal stuff! Next playthrough will likely be Dogmatic, full FOR THE EMPIRE! Which maybe fits better with the world. I don't think I could pull of a Heretic run. But who knows! Amazing game.
