I love this game.
I love the war hammer series, so when i saw they had one in VR, i said yes, it was definitely a good buy, i was only planning to play it for like 30-40 minutes at a times and i ended up spending just an hour 30 playing it, its very addicting.

This is the only Warhammer game available in VR currently and maybe it was okay 6 years ago (writing this in 2026, the game was released in 2020 I think) but it has aged horribly very quickly. Graphics are PS2 level (though as ever the actual scale of seeing things in VR impresses. Seeing how big a primaris space marine is for yourself is genuinley pretty cool), the motion controls are very finicky. It drops weapons constantly when you try to holster, the grenade slot position is constantly changing (and often for some reason, directly at my crotch level. You ever wanted to play a Sororitas that grabs at her crotch all the time, get this game) and the faith powers are incredibly sensitive and always manage to pick up the incorrect motion. The player has a very low health pool and later stages of the game feel more like a hiding in cover simulator and the level design quickly becomes a case of just throwing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of enemies at you. I'm on Chapter 7 (out of 12 I think?) as of writing and theres been several occasions where I've opened a door and there's been enemies right in front of my face already shooting at me. There's no sprint, if you press in the thumbstick you just do a short dash so if you want to move quickly you need to press it over and over again. The gameplay feels like it wants to be almost Doom-like, with you switching up weapons for different enemy types and zooming about and firing off faith powers but the controls just lead to you accidentally flinging your weapons around and using the wrong powers (if they work at all, the game isn't very clear about when they're usable or not) then having to sit in cover. The weapons themselves are...okay. There's a certain thrill if you're a fan of the setting to getting to wield a bolter or chainsword and bolt pistol in VR but it wears off quickly as it gives way to frustration. The fact that it's 40k in VR does carry a lot of weight. The sound design is honestly kind of awful. Early in the game you're fighting to close a warp portal and the buzzing crackling sound effect is ALWAYS there. It's not a low hum in the background either, it's right there at the top of the audio the whole time. Likewise, the flamer and melta have a loud burning and hissing sound the whole time they're equipped. Just overall the sound design feels very cheap. The story also is there, I guess. 40k doesn't have great narritives at the best of times and this is no exception. The story is a vehicle for you to kill heretics. It does its job. So yeah, if you like 40k and can get it cheap like around ten bucks, go for it. It'll be entertaining for a while but not towards the end game when the novelty of 40k VR wears off and you just feel frustrated and kind of annoyed that there are no other 40k VR games on the level the setting deserves.
It's ok, but the last 2 hours were a way worse experience than the first 2, can't really recommend
Good - A Warhammer 40k VR game Neutral - The visuals are only ok - Neat abilities that are inconsistent in their activation Bad - Audio - Leveling is off which makes the sound stage confusing. Can never tell if enemies are close or far away. - Enemy AI - Enemies can both walk and shoot through some objects in the environment that stop you and your bullets. - Controls overall are janky Conclusion If you are a Warhammer 40k fan you'll most likely find some enjoyment here. Just make sure to get it for a good discount. For everyone else just skip it.
Yes.
its good
