Wand Wars is easily one of my favorite local multiplayer titles, and it easily earns a spot in my rotation alongside Samurai Gunn 2 and the Jackbox Titles, thanks to its collection of varied modes, high skill ceiling, and easy to learn nature. Presentation-wise, it's a slam dunk. The backgrounds are beautiful, the visual effects convey a real sense of power, and the soundtrack is excellent. Every action you take in this game just feels juicy, and the game really benefits from this. Singleplayer works great too! They're far from an afterthought, as the campaigns (as mundane as their stories might be) are challenging and plenty cute, and the endless gauntlet mode offers yet another varied experience. (That one's playable in co-op, though I haven't tried it like that) Plus, hey, chicken TF! As if it wasn't already ticking all my boxes, haha.
This game is genuinely fun and dynamic, perfect for a local party with 4 controllers. The music and colors enhance the competitiveness as the ball goes exponentially faster, with cool looking characters and customization. Loved it!

Great fun for local couch game night. VS and co-op game modes. Harry Potter vibes
Gorgeous pixel art, smooth and fast-paced dodgeball-esque gameplay, with a mix of relaxing and riveting electronic BGM. Regular mode ('Arcade Arena') is frantic fun in multiplayer, Merlinball is an arguably even more awesome team-based secondary mode! Trials mode quickly gets a bit over-the-top with the powerups, but can still be a nice diversion for some players; I wouldn't get this game with the intention to play that particular mode. Oh yes, it runs flawlessly on Linux. Consider getting it on sale if you play alone and like what looks like frantic magical dodgeball / Quidditch, definitely consider it if you plan on doing some local multiplayer sessions!
I REALLY wish this game has online multiplayer given the price they're asking for. Definitely an amazing game though. WARNING: Steam Remote Play lags like CRAZY no matter how good your internet is
Unfortunately, this little title didn't get the spotlight it deserved. The pixel art is gorgeous, soundtrack is amazing and its local multiplayer is insanely fun.
Best local multiplayer game ever
This game reminds me a lot of Lethal League (also great). This one is couch multiplayer only, so if you regularly get together with friends IRL and like quick/brutal fun indie games, I highly recommend you pick this one up. 10/10
This is the game I would show as an example when talking about visual feedback in video games.
best game ever
