Wallpaper Engine

Wallpaper Engine is one of those applications that almost every PC user should have. At this point, it's so well-known that it barely needs a recommendation. The biggest strength is the massive collection of wallpapers available through the Steam Workshop. No matter what you're into, you'll probably find dozens of high-quality wallpapers that match your taste. It's easy to use, runs well, and completely changes how your desktop feels. If you're thinking about buying it, just do it. It's absolutely worth the price.

I love wallpaper engine. It is fun, I like what it does. That said DO NOT USE THE APPLICATION WALLPAPERS. They can and have been used to steal steam accounts, and drain bank accounts. It acts as a trojan horse for hackers. Don't let an anime girl background ruin everything. Just use the other types that are in there.

Looks like things have been clarified in the below discussion forum regarding this issue. I personally never used any application wallpapers but was still backlogged into via Wallpaper Engine, so I will likely not use this app for a while until I feel more safe. To anyone else reading this though, things should be ok now!

Great software and always enjoyed using it, but recently theres been malware hidden in newer wallpapers. Make sure to use trusted wallpapers. I wont be using this software until these security risks have been fixed.

Need to lock down the functionality of the program, because Kaspersky reported this week that malware can be bundled into the wallpapers listed for download. Go back to a strict image/video option, and not "embedding games" into your wallpapers that are easily exploitable and getting people's accounts hijacked. Download a wallpaper, and now you have to trust the person who made it not to ever rebundle it with a virus, infecting you on your next update. I wouldn't trust this program any longer.

I mean its a good wallpaper application until you accidently get an application wallpaper and they steal your ass and start infecting your whole entire pc with malware and using it as a bitcoin engine. If you are going to buy this app, BE AWARE, THERE 𝒞𝒜𝒩 BE SOME SPECIFIC WALLPAPERS WITH MALWARE. Be sure you have the filter applications on, and if anyone is reading this, go to your wallpapers right now and check if there are any application ones, and just get rid of them immedietly, regardless of what it is.
