One of the better graphical NetHack clients and still updated (albeit, slowly). Worth a buy if you want graphics for your terminal game.
Vulture is based on NetHack a free open-source roguelike that is still being updated actively from nethack.org. Vulture has custom art, sound design, and UI. If you're used to classic NetHack like me, it might be a challenge playing at an angle. There are other free "modern adaptations" to NetHack also aimed at beginners. GnollHack has animations, new equipment slots, and tons of new monsters. Pathos-NetHack is also free but is basically a completely different game with similar locations and items. Both are on mobile. Or play vanilla NetHack It's amazing. 1000+ hours and I still play avidly (there are players with 25% win rates - you can always get better). Why should you play NetHack in general? - Endless replayability - 30+ years of active development from passionate devs to make one of the best RPG sandboxes ever - 13 roles with unique quests and playstyles (try valkyrie first if you're new) - Open skill ceiling, there's always more to learn - If you like roguelikes this one is OG and continues to be one of the best VULTURE FEEDBACK: - "Shift" counts as a directional input if you press it after being prompted where to zap a wand or dig with a pickaxe which cancels the action (your wand glows and fades wasting a charge). - You can't drop a specific number of items, but you can stash/unstash custom amount - There's no turn counter by default making invoking and prayer more difficult - The attributes and experience and status box is kind of small (probably can be customized?) - An "in-game" wiki would be very useful to new players

I'm recommending this only to people who NEED graphics.... If you want the true rogue experience, Hengband is still around and free. Only downside to Hengband is that it's purely keyboard and there are A LOT of hotkeys.
Это графический фронтенд для текстовой игры с очень глубоким геймплеем. На самом деле, слишком глубоким, используя спойлеры, я совершил её первое прохождение лет через 5. И всё таки, эта игра меня не отпускала.
Unfortunately, this old game is completely outdated. Cons: -I was forced to play the game in a small window. Although there is a fullscreen option in the game options menu, but I can't select it because the left side of menu is covered. -For the same reason above, I can't change the volume of music. It's so noisy. -The font size of menu is too small. To make matters worse, these white texts are very difficult to read on the light brown backgrounds.
They added UI and but did it so badly that it's still complicated
What ever I paid for this game it is too much. Don't get me wrong - the core game and nethack is of course pretty good ! But theres just a MYRIAD of quality of life things wrong here - why doesnt it support full screen in a sensible way??? - Pressing alt enter STRETCHES the game on full screen causing horrible aspect ratio. - Also theres no way to adjust the scaling of the UI. - Theres no resolution adjustemn settings Its basically not made for modern desktop computer and i feel ripped off that I even paid for it
Current version crashes when fullscreened on Linux. Otherwise decent client for nethack.
we need an 100% remaster of this game for current gfx cards THEN I WILL DIE HAPPY
Great companion to Nethack.
