Wow... einfach nur wow... leider nicht im positiven Sinne! Dieses Spiel hat definitiv einiges an Feinschliff nötig und sollte so wie es ist sicher nicht veröffentlicht werden. A learning experience that can be used as a stepping stone to a better future titles. The game engine does not appear to have been designed for home PCs. When you click the game's icon, nothing happens for roughly 10 seconds. When it finally starts, you're disappointed to discover that there are no settings. You'll have to make due with the game's default button layout and graphics because the resolution is set to a setting that is below modern standards. Also, pressing the "esc" button crashes the game. No matter where you are, you end up back on the desktop. Now, the game looks like a student project that shouldn’t really be released in this state. Constant clipping issues and framerates that have no business being this low can be ignored because every game has those. But gameplay issues are something else. First big obstacle is the weird gear controls. You have a useless flashlight, an axe, or a gun. Each has a separate button so you can’t swap between them in an easy way. The issue comes when you press the use button to open doors or grab; this removes any item from your hand. It’s not fun losing a weapon each time you interact with a door and an enemy kills you before you can even swap the gun. But that doesn’t matter much because combat is bad. The axe is useless because you never know if your strikes even hit the target. The gun is the only decent piece of gear that does a fine job of killing enemies. But there’s an issue here as well. Enemies are fast, and when they’re right next to you, you can’t even kill them because the gun clips through. And I don’t know why each shot takes four bullets. Stages are short and follow the same template. There’s a few corridors and rooms where you search for keys and access card that lets you enter the next stage. Items glow so you can’t miss them. The game saves when you reach the next stage, and you can continue from the stage when you die. However, the save is erased when you quit the game. You can imagine the frustration when you accidentally press the Esc button. I always appreciate when a developer creates something from scratch and doesn’t take shortcuts. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn’t work and it’s more of a learning experience. There are far worse games out there, and the game is fine at a heavy discount. But although it's possible to play a few stages, the problems grow too large to overcome in later stages. I
