Fun concept, gameplay is pretty nice, buggy but not terribly so, funny in a way. Performance is pretty terrible though, My PC isn't top of the line but it isn't that bad either, 1 hour of playtime and the performance divorced me and it took the frames with it. So to say, amazing effort for a single dev (afaik), effort is put into it and I can see the fun in it, had I been able to play it smoothly that is.
It looks bad, its plays bad, and it runs bad. Its great. Looking bad and playing, and running bad is because the game is simulating the whole of the Vietnam war. Arty firing a mile away, bombers trying to take out that arty while infantry go into to clean up the rest. Bases are built, loss, then retaken all with no input from the player, while you still can play a big part in the war effort. As an example, spent most of the first tour west of Saigon , were things were mostly stable, and so I moved to the other side of the Parrot's Beak, were the fire base I was at was just being pounded by rock artillery at all hours of the day. Went up in a little bird, saw the flashes from the guns in the jungle, called in airstrikes that took out two of the guns, then went in to take out the other, which allowed the fire base I was at to be able to field units again, without them being killed, and to start to take ground. Plays bad. Movement is really floaty, like your guys have butter slathered over his feet, the gun play is fine, but it doesn't really matter, when you are pushing a NVA base while bombs and napalm are begin dropped, with dozens of npcs firing at each other. Things could be tightened up. Runs bad, part of it is the amount of stuff that is going on, tunnels being build, massive fire balls in fights a mile away. This is the biggest issue the game has, and hopefully it will be fixed, but I have only had one crash, though the game does like to freeze up for a few seconds every so often as I assume stuff is being loaded. Bugs are an issue too, AI will sometimes just not follow you, and troops will just stay in place, but doenst happen enough to be a real issue. Orders will stop coming in after a while, and some vehicles will just bug out but these are all fixed by a reload. Hopefully all these will be fixed, but none of this is really a deal breaker for me at least. AI use, which is my only real con for the game. Some voices, and stuff on the radio is gen ai, which I get, its a solo dev, without the funds to get voice actors. I hope the dev will change this later, get voice actors, or just people from the community to record voice lines, and radio stuff. Id gladly give my time and voice to the game, since the ai use is the only thing im not a fan of. It's great, there really isnt anything else like this. It's made by one dev, with a vision that he probably cant fully realize, and its beautiful. I hope he keeps on keeping on, and makes this even better. He reminds me in a way of mat dickie, making a strange, lovely game with ambition far outside his funding and talent, and I mean that is the best way possible. Just clean up the bugs, replace the gen AI with anything really. Give it a try, its well worth your money and time.

It feels good at times and bad at times. Surpringly realistic at times. Most of the bugs I witnessed were movement based around hills and AI needs a lot of work. I also wish the guns were more realistic sounding/ RPMs. The PPSH is a prime example, it fires at the same RPM as most other machiene guns in the game. I'm giving a hesistant thumbs up, with the expectation that updates and fixes keep coming in (and the things I mentioned fixed). If at any point updates slow down I'll be changing my review. I would say wait till 1.0 to purchase but if its heavily discounted (like it is during summer sale 8.99$) it definitley has enough content to be worth it.
I really want to like this game but man it is a little to jank movement mainly but the animations and gun combat good do with a facelift. I do like the kinda unorganized look cause the vietnam war was unorganized and the randomness of the hueys comin in like apocalypes now with ride of the valkyries playin thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick. But please optimize this game I mean this ♥♥♥♥ crashes after like 15 minutes and my pc is 100% more than good enough to run this game. Could be very fun just needs some work on optimizing and making it less janky. Just mainly the crashing bit is my biggest problem if I cant go 10 minutes(I timed it) without it crashing means I cant even play fix that and the game is good enough for me. Also fix operations the helis always crash and they look really cool if they worked. (Ok I was just dumb its cause I had craters and sorched ground on which is why it kept crashing this game is sick I found how how to use the map I love it now. Still movement and gun gameplay should be worked on otherwise great job with this.) (After playing it some more make it it randomly freezing for 30 seconds is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying but when this game works its magical.)
What is this...? What even is this? It runs like ♥♥♥♥, your squad doesnt' stay with you or even listen, enemy targets have full awarness of your position, you will never find cover. There is no "ebb and flow" to this game. Its just thrown together and straight up boring. find something else please.
Performance and Stability is lacking.
