Tepid thumbs up. This game is perfect for my era/war of interest as is Napoleon, but lord almighty the significance of leaders and how they make their troops indestructible on the battlefield while also scoring E's with every volley ruins it. Britain favors/sides with the CSA early out of all historical context. Lee on the offensive offensive field bled his Army to death. How Bragg or Polk are not 2s is wrong. Plus the blockade didn't work at all apparently. Grant a 9? Please. I understand but he actually whooped Lee. Also does not account for the deterioration of the inadequate CSA rail capacity as the war progresses, keeping it on par with Union capacity. These are all balance problems that can be fixed, but do your homework. The South's only hope was on the strategic will front, not on the battlefield. Still worth playing, the mechanics are fine, but rebels bled out and died too.
Beat the tar out them Yankees by mid 1863! 7 hours and done. Much shorter than I expected at moderate difficulty. There is some replayability here, however. $30 seems high for 7 hours to complete a playthrough. I still recommend because it is fun, though minimally in-depth mechanics take away from the overall feel.

Poor - stick with the Napoleonic one - map confusing, combat dull and just all round feel is unpleasant.
Great game. I have won with both North and South at Major level.
Great! It's a lot of fun, although of course it doesn't quite have the complexity of other strategy games. But it's very charming and the battles are very tactical once you understand what's important. You can also just play it from time to time. Hope there are more scenarios from the developer!
game mechanics are ♥♥♥♥
Amazingly this is one of the few CW games where the Confederacy has a fair shot at winning. In fact I never lost a game and I have played several while never encountering any real jeopardy of losing.
for the civil war maniacs. I can recomend this game. Somthing like a boardgame. I really like it.
This game is sweet. I used to play an inordinate amount of Axis & Allies, I really like the AI, very challenging. 30 hours of fun for $30 is a solid deal.
Good game nice balance and design.
