The gameplay is very nice, and I feel like you could pull some crazy shonen anime -type moves if you were skilled enough. Story is one of the worst I've ever played, but doesn't matter because this is clearly a gameplay-focused arcade shooter. I love what they did with the end credits! Had some weird fmv cutscene stuttering in some later cutscenes. I have no idea if it's about some video codecs or something like that. Minor issue, since I couldn't care less about the story, but still annoying.
platinum should make a third person shooter again, this game is so sick. the story and dialogue are cheesy and over the top, but it's a fitting combo with the fast-paced action of the gameplay. the boost slide is so much fun, and is a really satisfying movement mechanic to master. as far as i know, some aspects of the game are broken at high frame rates, and some minor ones still persist even at 60 fps but it seems perfectly playable at that cap.

Underrated jewel of a third-person cover shooter. Gameplay still holds up and the shooting feels good. Story's a bit wacky, but it's what you expect from Platinum. Between this and MGR, Vanquish has the superior Sam. Fight me.
