Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 21 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is the pure definition of mixing the home console shooter genre with the gameplay mechanics of the Japanese arcade of the 00's. Pure perfection and honestly, we probably won't get back to this formula of gaming ever again. The gameplay is so satisfying. Please, if you love the action shooter genre this is a must play.
Played this to death on console. About to dive into the PC version. My only complaints with Vanquish in general - Game is HELLA short. Even by PlatinumGames standards. - If you’re expecting the amount of replayability of other titles from PlatinumGames like Bayonetta, NieR Automata, or Wonderful 101. This game is lacking in that regard. Despite those complaints. This game is one of the most unique shooters you’ll ever play. 15 years later, there still isn’t another shooter, quite like Vanquish. 8.5/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 15: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Vanquish remains as PlatinumGame's forgotten gem. Seriously, it's that good. Among the cover shooter genre i'd even say its among the best. The game itself is not that long, it only took me about 20-25 hours to 100% the game. I think this works in its favor, allowing the game enough time to be memorable without overstaying its welcome. The story of Vanquish is nothing special. You play as DARPA Agent Sam Gideon, fighting a terroristic Russian threat who threatens to use a space station built to harness solar energy against New York City. It doesn't get more complex than that, and feels very generic for the time that the game was released. You are a good guy sent to fight bad guys who want to hurt people. The real bread and butter (and the reason why this game has its reputation) is in the gameplay. Vanquish is a high-octane fluid movement based cover shooter. That's a lot of buzzwords but they all accurately describe Vanquish's gameplay. For example, you're allowed Rocket boosters to zoom around the battlefield and to propel yourself in the air. You can dive kick into some poor robots face and enter a slow-mo backflip bullet time and kill the three robots behind him before even landing on the ground again. The game follows the rule-of-cool religiously and doesn't apologize for it. The game also hosts a decently varied selection of weapon types to choose from, and enemy types to face that are uniquely their own. My favorite was this terminator-silver surfer hybrid called a "Crystal Viper". You'll need to play it for yourself to see what i'm talking about. Seriously, its fun and goes on-sale for cheap. Just get the game and have some quick-fun.
Short and sweet! Great execution of a cover-based shooter where covers feel useful but not too OP because of enemies potentially flushing you out by destroying them, flanking you from multiple directions, etc. The combat is very chaotic, fast-paced, and intense (especially on the challenges and harder difficulty), one of the main reasons being AR mode and how it's tied to your health, making it risky to use it often, very simplistic but executed perfectly. One of the best shooters I played!
Absolute banger. Stop reading reviews and just buy this game.
Slop of its era is what you can call this game with its generic protagonist, the blonde female talking to you while the ♥♥♥♥ always do these "angles" (if you know what i mean) and the "Russia is the bad guy and the US is corrupted" and corny dialogue. Gameplay insanely unfun since everything is scripted and there is no player freedom (keep in mind some people call this a "movement shooter" it is anything but a MS 🥀). The shooting is borderline cancer since some guns spray like flower missing 65% of your shots and running it out of ammo. The upgrade system was also a second thought. Oh and don't get me started on the "melee" of your character or the AI of this game. QTE are abysmal, not as bad as Bayonetta but still terrible. This game proves once again that, Platinum games hasn't made a single decent game outside of MGR:R. How do boomers call garbage like this "classic" is beyond me. Every mouth breather has an opinion now and are calling every ps3/ps2 era game a classic. No wonder we are going backwards these days in terms of game development.
super underrated. great game play is kinda like metal gear rising with guns. the story while bad if you dont take it serouisly its like a so bad its good movie.
Very good, but the 2004 Vanquish is better
