Nice art and you actually learn a lot about history. Its crazy how sophisticated some of these contraptions were hundreds of years ago.
This was very fun to play! The graphics were nice and the vibe was consistent. The puzzles were challenging, yet easy enough to solve after some thought here and there. It wasn't one of those hard games that makes you wanna quit and walk away. It kept me interested and wanting more. 5/5!
Vanished Puzzle Quest is a free, first-person 3D puzzle game set in historic Asian and North African locations. The underlying story is the rediscovery and documenting of the incredible Islamic scientific inventions of the medieval period, while pursuing the evil inventor who has tried to remove all memory of them. At each of eight locations, a number of puzzles have to be solved, and one or more historic devices (clocks, cranes, locks, scales, astrolabes, etc) activated & used, to open up the route to the next city. The game looks very good, the puzzles are plentiful and varied, and the details about the historic inventions are fascinating. Much information is freely provided in the form of scrolls etc, and the overall level of the puzzles is quite easy (perhaps a little too easy), so I felt no need to use the game's hint system, except once at the beginning of a second playthrough to get the associated achievements. The one big exception to the straightforward nature of the puzzles was, in my view, the one using the astrolabe, which took me a long while to understand even with the copious scroll instructions. Overall I enjoyed playing this game, which was only marred by the failure of five achievements to trigger in Steam late in the game, even though on-screen messages said that I had obtained them; judging by the global statistics (and other players' comments), only a few people - probably the developers themselves during testing - have been able to get these five, which is a shame for the rest of us.

Cool little puzzle to do with kids. The puzzles vary from ridiculously easy to entirely incomprehensible. I still don't know how to solve the astrolabe puzzle. CAUTION: if you're an achievement hunter, some of the end game achievements are bugged.
To portray the scientific history of different Islamic scholars in such a fun and interactive way is worthy of appreciation. I am having fun solving all the puzzles. They are mid but fun.
average and also bugged achievements. even though it's free, i would not put any time into this
sometime it has bugs, over all was good game
Enjoyable little game, especially with the history aspect. From somewhere in my distant past I remembered that 2 negatives = a positive and that helped solve one of the puzzles. I also solved several puzzles by just guessing the answers, which although was surprising, was a bit disappointing too. However, all in all entertaining.
