Vampire's Best Friend

Rolled credits and am excited to try and 100% the game. Really unique and creative and fun and charming gameplay. The level of challenge was perfect. And I love the problem solving that comes with the energy bar because not only do you have to figure out how you're going to do something in a certain time, but you also get to pick where your checkpoint is, what position you start from. (And the fact that there's the time limit/energy meter makes where you start extremely relevant). Compared to most platformers, like Celeste, where your checkpoint is on a platform at the bottom left corner, if you started a few pixels to the right or a few pixels to the left it wouldn't make a difference, you could just take a few steps forwards or backwards. The added complexity of Vampire's best friend of having what exact pixels you start from is maybe my favorite mechanic and one i haven't seen before. Music and art are great <3 I discovered this game from remap radio.

Highly recommended! Wonderful little game that takes a simple set of mechanics and wrings every bit of creativity from them. At a basic level, the game is very approachable and you'll be feeling like a natural in no time as you learn how to maneuver with your precious few seconds of flight. There are open-ended rooms that let you familiarize yourself with controlling the bat and, when you're more comfortable, others that will require and reward absolute precision. The game will be challenging in a few places, but you can roam around the map freely to carve your own path. Completing the game only requires about 2/3 of the game's collectibles to be gathered, after which point you can still continue to complete what remains for a bonus ending.

very cute little flap em up, isn't super long but can get very challenging. one warning though, requires a lot of accurate button mashing.

This is an absolutely fantastic game in so many ways. The controls feel very strange and unintuitive at first, but the more you play, the more you realize just how well thought out every single part of the level design is. So many challenges are carefully crafted to require you to make the most out of your 5 second timer and push your understanding of the core systems in new and interesting ways. Collecting every garlic was a blast, and I'm excited to jump back in to try and get that 20 minute achievement!
