Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 21 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's pretty fun at the start, though with the typical flaws of an anime console game with the overdramatic and at the same time weird dialogues and strange charater logics but at least the gameplay is interesting. And then you hit chapter 7, where the game throws an almost-immortal boss at you and once you get too close to beating him the game sends a trully immortal boss to help the first one with enough moves to run through your whole team and one-shot everyone in one turn. And the only advice from the "git gud" crowd on the forums is that you're supposed to magically know what's gonna happen before it happens, hide, pray and wait until the scripted timed event happens if it happens. Sorry but I play the games for fun and I don't want to waste my time to "git gud" on immortal enemies, so if you don't want to bang against the wall until you "git gud" don't waste your money on this game.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I got this game for PS3 back in the day and never made it past the tutorial. I thought the menu was clunky and there's no autosave. But coming back to it now, being a little more patient, this is an incredible strategy game experience with so much love and detail. I think I can actually appreciate everything Valkyria Chronicles is doing now I'm a bit older. The book menu system is still clunky- the lack of autosave is a pain- but past those aches is one of the most engaging original strategy games you'll ever play. And the watercolour anime style is beautiful to look at, a blessing since the game is packed with many hours of fully animated cut scenes! If you're a geek for World Wars and love a classic anime adventure, this game will make your week.
Aged poorly, and kb+m controls are absolutely atrocious... though incredibly photogenic, the gameplay process is incredibly unbalanced, and force-feeding the unskippable story by FMVs is painful.
No autosave between battles is insane but it's amazing otherwise.
Closes when you alt-tab, very infuriating.
What should be a fun X-com type game is sadly just a puzzle solver, with almost each battle having a '1 turn solution' to get an A rank. Yes, one single turn, rush into the base with a fast scout unit and win the battle, and the devs actually REWARD this stupid gamey play by giving you extra exp and income boosts for turn 1 clearances. So, with that said, ignore all those abilities, all the other classes, all those cool perks each character has, its all meaningless, you will literally never have to actually defend anything, if you give the enemy just one turn, your already losing, might as well reload the mission and try again.

Pontos negativos no geral

I wanted to like this game SO BAD
I enjoy X-com and I've seen many others commenting the same thing. The graphics, the characters and the story is wonderful engaging and makes me really feel for these people. Allow me to start off with the wall of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I've been throwing myself into for 11 hours. The enemies Despite being the same classes as yours: will always be better than you, They're more accurate I've never seen an enemy sniper MISS A SHOT. Their units move further than your same units. The enemies even dodge your shots better than your own guys do, You can have a solid 3 feet away head shot and randomly the enemy will just drop to the ground and you'll miss, and he'll pop right back up and shoot you in the face. The missions are trial and error and you will stop and reload when losing a soldier to something stupid which happens ALOT. There is a perfect way to complete a mission and have no casualties but it defeats the purpose of the game entirely. You are sent into most missions completely blind, you don't know what units are out there, you don't know if there's tanks UNLESS the game wants you to know about it because it's a new thing they're introducing. I've failed many missions because I didn't know I was walking into a wolves den wearing a suit made of meat. There is no use of legitimate strategy and trying new things results in death and you'll just reload the game in frustration. I've seen it in other reviews as well and the majority of videos on youtube seem to encourage this as well. Deploying your best character (usually a scout) and rushing them to the objective and clearing the objective in one phase and raising the flag, leaving most of your deployed units just sitting there doing nothing. You're expected to cheese everything if you want a high rank and to actually win. If you're trying to be a strategist and plan out where your units go and move them up together, you MAY be able to finish a mission and not have it go completely wrong in seconds, but the game seems to reward you the best for sprinting toward the objective and finishing the mission as quickly as possible. It's an utterly confusing design choice and it's not fun to play "Normally" either. The cheesing aspect of the game just ruins it for me as I'm clearly fighting against a system that tells me to play it like a strategy game, to treat it like a strategy game but when you actually play it that way you're punished for doing so. I generally don't like over optimizing things in games because I enjoy a good challenge but this game over all loves to provide an unfair challenge the majority of the time, meaning you will have to do your best to pick the best recruits who all like each other and remember on the battle field who likes who the best so that they will provide boosts for each other when you send them to attack an enemy or take a defensive position behind sandbags or in trenches. The sandbags.. OH MY GOD THE SANDBAGS. do you wanna talk about a thing that's set up STRICTLY for the enemies benefit and not your own almost ever? "Your tank is a moving sandbag" AND INDEED IT IS. However I cannot group more than 4 people generously behind the tank at once, You will need an engineer to repair the tank (sometimes 2 engineers at a time) resupply the tank and your other soldiers in your group so they don't run out of grenades and ammo every 3 seconds. You can easily blow up the sandbags of your enemies but your engineers can repair them. Unfortunately you're rarely IF EVER in a position when you need those sandbags aside from putting your guys in a defensive position so they don't get dinged in the head by a sniper and INSTANTLY DIE. It confuses me as to why your engineers cannot build their own sand bags for your team. Pushing the tank up the line with an engineer following behind putting down cover seems like a great missed opportunity. The enemy placement in certain levels will result in instant death for some soldiers without your knowledge. Remember earlier how I mentioned the Cheese and Rush the Objective strategy the game loves so much? Well if you do that, and you do not make it to the objective in the number of turns provided to your one character. There's probably someone in your squad that's about to get instantly killed by a sniper unknowingly to you the first time through the mission. THOSE SNIPERS RARELY MISS UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY FAR AWAY. There was a particular mission in the desert where a sniper kept moving back and forth from cover because he was deliberately trying to find an angle to kill a guy I had sitting behind cover further below him, i saw this behavior and thought it was incredibly strange that an AI was so desperate to shoot one of my soldiers that it wouldn't leave it sniping position ontop of a roof to get closer, but chose to jump back and forth over a wall of sandbags for many phases in a row before my tank finally launched a mortar shell at him. I was left feeling stupid and frustrated wondering what it was I was doing wrong repeatedly while playing this, it almost borders on being a puzzle game more than a strategy game with a-lot of trial and error. The turn based aspect is just there so that the enemy can have more turns than you can until you thin their numbers over a long and tiresome process, because they have sandbags and you don't and head shots don't insta-kill when someone is behind cover (This counts for you too thank goodness). I had moments where I was screaming. The Scouts are the bread and butter and you'll more than likely send them in to spot enemies and then run back hoping they won't be shot in the back because there was no cover and you needed to see what was ahead of you and OH NO Alicia is dead because a tank lit her up the second she checked around a corner to see what was on the other side of it. Time to reload again, shame on you for trying to use the classes as they were designed. The engineers are useless for combat outside of having them repair the tank or maybe sometimes heal someone. They're useful when it comes to the tank and should stay glued to the tank. The snipers rarely have any high places in missions that benefit using them unless the mission specifically suggests taking them. there are towers but they're too far out of the way to support a team from a distance, Ya know like a sniper would. Or the 1 of two snipers you get can't hit the broad side of a barn. The Lancers are the slowest moving units with the shortest distance. They're meant to destroy tanks, so you'll have to use like 3 turns or more to get them in range of a tank because firing a lance at a distance at an enemy tank is an absolute gamble, but don't worry the enemies rarely miss, and can move up further than yours (atleast that's what it feels like) The Shock troopers are a great unit stunted by their limited movement, you will put these guys in more danger than feels necessary trying to take out an enemy. Do you like insta-killing an annoying enemy? Well the Shock Trooper has you covered, unfortunately they ran out of action points and can't get back to cover and a random tank just decided to turn them into a fine red mist after they just took out that annoying lancer who's been nailing your tank for past 2 phases, Time to reload and try again. The tank is your walking wall of bullet proof armor, While playing I've rarely had an issue with the tank over all. It's big it's slow it's not gonna go far each turn but it takes 2 command points per turn. Moving it into an engagement and firing at your enemy soldier or an enemy tank. it's not a bad unit over all. This game is just too hard for me and having to cheese my way through it makes it not fun. I just wanted to enjoy an anime ww2 game with tanks and cute girls, unfortunately i just got angry and felt frustrated and dumb.
