This is a definite maybe as hidden object game recommendations go. The game's strengths are the background art and the interface. The background art is colorful, and the tricks really work that make it look more animated than it is. I rarely got stuck because of a pixel hunt, and the mini-games mostly weren't too punishing when it came to mis-clicks. There is one major lousy exception to this involving a boat, but I got through it without skipping, and yes the game will let you skip. The weaknesses in the art are probably that the bizarrely animated faces are just goofy and the hidden object scenes reuse and reuse the same objects, which pretty much kills the fun of those exercises. Other weaknesses include the weird game element of hidden object scenes becoming accessible in locations you've already visited with no indication that anything would have happened there, so if you seem stuck, you just have to cycle through every background and look for sparkles where there weren't any before. Those scenes tend to give you an item you need to advance, but there is rarely a reason for a searchable pile of items to suddenly appear. And I never found myself looking forward to the puzzles after I saw enough that were fine but not really fun or challenging. In summary, you get pretty much what you expect from a hidden object game, and although I didn't use skips or hints, they are there if you need them. That will be good for some players because for the most part, clicking to shoot an arrow or steer a boat doesn't work here, instead just serving as obstacles. The worst that I can say is that I wasn't surprised by anything being particularly fun, but I've played enough of these to know what I was getting. And it could be much worse. I seem to recall the first game feeling more like adventure-lite, so I don't know if this one intentionally leaned in to what has been working for Artifex Mundi, but I didn't need more opportunities to clicks hidden shapes to make the game better. Last thing: with the bonus story, the game is about 5 hours if you don't skip but also don't get stuck.
