Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 10 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The definitive edition of G.rev's military vertical scrolling shooter, UNDER DEFEAT, has arrived.

◆ After the total war, what will the soldiers witness?
It has already been over a decade since the war between the Empire and the Federation, which divides the continent, began.
Both sides, having reached the peak of exhaustion, begin to approach each other and agree upon a ceasefire date.
In anticipation of the upcoming ceasefire, new weapons and prototypes are continually deployed...
An unprecedented battle is now about to begin───

◆ Deploy in a combat helicopter and annihilate enemy weapons with anti-air and anti-ground attacks.
Players can choose from four combat helicopters to deploy.
Using shots that serve both anti-air and anti-ground purposes, maneuver to aim, and sometimes close in rapidly on the enemy for an attack.
Execute missions with simple yet multidimensional control techniques and strategic stage progression.
Experience a realistic "battlefield," with allies falling amidst fierce battles against various weapons and communications flying back and forth between friend and foe alike.

◆ Take on the frontlines repeatedly with a variety of engaging game modes.
Includes three game modes—"NEW ORDER," "NEW ORDER+," and "Arcade"—each with different screen sizes, stage structures, and game rules.
Practice your favorite stages and record replay footage in "Training" mode, then compete with players nationwide in "Online Rankings" for a score attack challenge.
Additionally, the "Gallery" mode unlocks in-game illustrations and materials based on your gameplay progress.

◆ With abundant options and the new BGM set "BOOSTED," the battlefield becomes even more intense.
Equipped with features such as "DUAL STICK" controls for switching shot operations, subtitles for in-stage radio communications, and on-screen displays of contribution levels and rank during gameplay.
Also includes the new BGM set "BOOSTED," composed by Shinji Hosoe, the original composer for UNDER DEFEAT, and other members of SuperSweep.
Play with your favorite BGM version, including tracks from past releases.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Spiritual sequel to the Rayforce series, kinda. Its the first shmup ive finally sat down and learned & beaten and i loved every minute of it. strange plot though, like what where they trying to say here
Fun game, I need to get around to playing more
As of 05/29/2026, I have just completed my first playthrough of new order mode. If you like the Strikers games or Sky Force games, there is a pretty good chance that you will like this as well. The core gameplay mechanics take some getting used to, but are quite fun nonetheless. I will definitely be coming back to this and trying out the other modes. Get this on sale.

이식도는 상당히 괜찮은 게임입니다. 게임 스타일 자체는 호불호가 심하게 갈리기 때문에 신중하게 생각해야 함
Ultra boring. Uh wow! This one uber barker got offended enough to say something that breaks Steam terms of use. I'll be gentle on ya this time. I'm really glad if you own this title and think it is manna from heaven. I definitely noticed the atrocity of obvious German nazi WW2 axis uniforms cosplay. That part makes me feel very uncomfortable to play this title. I was drawn in by the fact it was a NAOMI hardware title I did not get a chance to play. I was super excited when I purchased Under Defeat on 50% off sale. Unfortunately, I did not get the Twin Eagle feels, not even the Scramble Spirit feels. It just seems like old SHMUP mechanics got a polish and now you can make your copter turn around. Sort of. It looks great, and wish you a great Under Defeat gaming experience. After checking out Under Defeat, I got a refund. The NAOMI hardware was awesome..
ABOVE VICTORY
An absolutely amazing shmup. Although simple in scoring, controlling your copter in order to adjust it’s shooting angle paired with the cooldown “option” (mini ship that helps shoot) creates a very satisfying muscle memory loop. One part shmup one part rail shooter, stages feel very satisfying blowing up all the enemies/environmental effects and boss battles have a distinct, epic charm. I highly recommend this title
Solid shooter. Once the controls become obvious, it becomes a treat.

✍️ A Theory of Shmup Evolution By: Joseph Salomonsen Gradius → R‑Type → Darius → Toaplan → Cave / Treasure / G.rev 🟨 Foundations — Designed Space Gradius (Konami, 1985) The origin of control: resource systems, checkpoints, and authored space. The player shapes their ship to survive the level. R‑Type (Irem, 1987) The Force system: space becomes weaponized. A slow, methodical philosophy—positioning over reflex. Darius (Taito, 1987) Branching structure and spectacle. The first step toward non-linear shmup identity. 🟥 Line 1 — Density → Pattern → Bullet Hell (Toaplan → Cave) Twin Cobra (Toaplan, 1987) The definitive military shooter. Discipline, routing, survival. (my personal fave) Truxton / Tatsujin (Toaplan, 1988) The birth of the “Mega-Bomb” aesthetic—power as expression. Batsugun (Toaplan, 1993) The bridge to Bullet Hell. Density begins to dominate space. DoDonPachi (Cave, 1997) The system is complete. Patterns become language. Mushihimesama (Cave, 2004) The organic extreme. Bullets form ecosystems, not just obstacles. Deathsmiles (Cave, 2007) A divergence: horizontal design fused with atmosphere. Bullet hell becomes mood, not just system. 🟩 Line 2 — Weight → Realism → Physicality (Seibu → G.rev) Raiden II / DX (Seibu, 1993) The peak of “Heavy Metal” sprite-work. Industrial, grounded, uncompromising. Under Defeat (G.rev, 2005) The final expression of the military shmup. Momentum, recoil, and battlefield physics replace abstraction. Here: space > bullets weight > pattern movement > memorization 🟦 Line 3 — Mechanics → Abstraction → Philosophy (Iuchi Lineage) Hiroshi Iuchi ❤️ Radiant Silvergun → Judgment Silversword → Ikaruga → Kokuga → Ubusuna Treasure → M‑KAI → G.rev → M2 Radiant Silvergun (Treasure, 1998) The maximalist foundation. A shmup with layered systems and narrative ambition rarely seen in arcades. Judgment Silversword (M‑KAI, 2004) The technical bridge. The “Silver” philosophy reduced to pure system and code. Ikaruga (Treasure, 2001) The minimalist apex. Seven weapons collapse into one binary system: Black or White. The “chess” of shmups. Kokuga (G.rev, 2012) The tactical pivot. The ship becomes a tank. Weight replaces speed. Strategy replaces reaction. Ubusuna (M2, 2025/2026) The philosophical return. A synthesis of polarity and modern standards—a reflection on the lineage itself. ✅ Synthesis Shmups do not evolve in a single line. They fragment into three competing philosophies: Toaplan → Cave = density / pattern / abstraction of space Seibu → G.rev = weight / realism / physical presence Treasure → Iuchi = system / reduction / philosophy All of them emerge from: Gradius = designed systems R‑Type = controlled space Darius = structural possibility ✅ Final statement From Gradius’ authored space to Cave’s infinite bullet fields, from Iuchi’s compression of systems to G.rev’s return to physicality— The shmup is not just reflex, but a philosophy of dynamic control.
