About
You know, when you explain an idea, the idea fundamentally changes.
UNBEATABLE is an anime-juiced rhythm adventure where you (figuratively) destroy on stage while you (literally) destroy on stage. During rhythm gameplay, you only need two buttons: a button for up and a button for down. Simple to understand! The complicated part is doing it. Try not to get destroyed yourself.
Half the game is walking around and taking things at your own pace. The other half is trying to keep up with ours.
The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesn't help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do I know?
Talk to people, help them out (or don't, I'm not your mom!), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure what's going on there?!?!
All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. It'll get you through it.
*if this was 1999 this section would be called "talk the talk and rock the rock"
UNBEATABLE's full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. There's modifiers, tons of songs (with more to come!) and a whole challenge board to beat, with things to do that range from as simple as "beat a song on easy mode" to, one may presume, something as complicated as "solve an ancient riddle while skateboarding." That's not a real example.
**if this was 1999 this section would be called "party like it's now"
FEATURES:
Story Mode: 6-8 hours. Arcade Mode: UNLIMITED
Characters that hate you!
Maybe also some that don't!
The arcade mode has a cute little profile you can customize and unlock stuff for and I think that's pretty neat
Graphics! We'd describe them but I mean it's right there, you can see it
A whole entire double album worth of original songs
plus acoustic versions of those songs
oh and also remixes, too
You can unlock all the songs by playing the narrative OR just by playing the arcade game exclusively! Great for those who truly hate stories
Something (in this game) will make you feel something (in real life)!
It's anime
If you think about it, QTEs are basically just rhythm games with no music
Please, whatever you do, the title is either all caps or no caps. Be kind to us.
And the idea changes you in return.

UNBEATABLE. That's how I describe this game as. It's just a completely amazing story about two people who both lost their own way, the adventure it brings them on full of amazing moments, and an ending I cannot come out of without not being able to see because of how many tears fell down my face. The Story: Without any spoilers, unbeatable is a game that follows the main story of two characters (called beat and quaver), in a world where music is illegal, and YOU DO CRIME! Tagline aside, music is illegal due to monsters that appear called "the silence", and the police force known as HARM, stop anyone who plays music acting as a corrupt government if i had to put it in my own words. Throughout the story, beat comes to her own conclusions about her life, along with quaver coming to her own as they embark on the adventure of their band, unbeatable. (Treble and Clef also exist but the story isn't exactly focused on them sorry fan reading this) The Gameplay: UNBEATABLE isn't completely focused on rhythm. Most of the game is spent walking around, progressing the story and taking in the beautiful landscapes and I thought mentioning this first was a good idea to those who want purely a rhythm game (I'll talk about arcade in a second, don't worry). The actual rhythm portion is the main two button gameplay you'd see in games such as muse dash, with taps, spams and holds, where the gameplay can shift left and right. A bunch of minigames appear in the story too, such as batting, or beating up police which is always fun. Now, arcade mode. Arcade mode is solely the rhythm game for people who want more of the game, climb ranks and get full combos for their favorite songs in the soundtrack or collabs. The soundtrack: Where. TO. START. The ost for this game is phenomenal, and every track in the story completely fits in with the tone and atmosphere of what is currently happening. Wether it's RE-TUNED being the best track I've heard to start a game off, to dialtone being calm at points which reflect in the story and loud when things kick off, or BOOKEND SONG. Just typing that gave me chills for one of the best finales I've ever seen for a game, which had me genuinely cry eight times, acting as a good feeling song for the end of the game, but so damn emotional at the points where it matters. THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT: Throughout reviewing games, I've never written something like this. But there's no other way to put it. This game MEANT something to me. Meant a lot even if some of the core points of the game didn't exactly strike, but made me feel so immersed with what is happening. Whether it was a hype moment happening where the finale of a chapter had me smiling and yelling "YEAH!", or points near the end of the game, where I was bawling my eyes out. Those damn voicemails... it's impossible not to feel something. You can feel the passion of all of the developers in this game. UNBEATABLE has it's flaws, don't get me wrong. But that can be pushed aside because these people really wanted to make a story that would stick with you. UNBEATABLE isn't a love story. Not in the traditional sense. But damn it is one in it's own right. PLAY UNBEATABLE. It's an experience you won't regret. Thank you D-CELL.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

UNBEATABLE is by no means a perfect game. I’ll start by saying that. It’s janky, full of bugs, variably paced, and often feels like you’re wandering back and forth aimlessly. But it was also the first game in a long time that made me genuinely cry. UNBEATABLE is, ultimately, a love letter. To anime, to rhythm games, to music. This is not a game made to generate profit. It is a game made with raw passion and care that I have never seen in gaming before. And it really shows, this game is absolutely full to the brim of passion. It shows in the characters, it shows in the world, it shows in the music. UNBEATABLE is living proof that the Triple-A industry is wrong. That people want genuine stories that come from genuine people. That people want games made with heart, made with soul. UNBEATABLE is about a young girl who, despite the world being against her, chooses to stand up and demands to be heard amidst the silence. Who will not under any circumstances back down and be quiet. Who will not be pushed aside again. UNBEATABLE is a game where music is illegal, and you do crimes. UNBEATABLE is.
perfectly imperfect
Maybe the true UNBEATABLE was the friends we made along the way
这游戏不能从音游的角度来审视,剧情模式音游部分占比比较少。体验下来更像是在看一部动画,虽然剧情真有点碎吧。但是演出确实有点心流体验。
Ya know, I *really* wanna sing along to Bookend, but I cant get the words out thru all the tears.
To be honest the game sometimes feels a bit rough an unpolished, and at release I ran into some annoying bugs and took a break from it. I also dont think, that I understand the story fully yet, BUT the Story is very heartwarming and fun to experience, I really love the Characters and It's sometimes really funny too. The list of songs is amazing and I love the artstyle and overall vibe . It's hard to describe, but the Game just feels very special too me, and I had a great time playing. You can really feel that a lot of heart was put into making this game. It might not be for everyone, but if you like rythm games you should definitely give it a try.
I bought it yesterday and have eleven hours already. Enough said.
amazing game
this game might be kind of okay-ish, i havent played it for that long yet
