Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 14 → 0.6/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've wasted ridiculous amounts of time on the campaign only to find that the AI repeatedly does what it wants when it wants regardless of the time and effort I put in playing. For some reason, the AI has teleporters and nuclear weapons in 1862 that break units instantly regardless of combat, leadership, quality, weapons, morale or anything resembling reality. No wonder nobody likes the other games in this series. I've tried my patient best as a wargamer of over forty years to get past one scenario, but when I come up against AI like this, I feel that it's just another game that sucks you into repeat playing until you realise that you can't win, and then they've got your money.
Like pulling teeth, troops do not follow your commands, pot luck if they do. Slow laborious game-play, with little to recommend it, other when you exit the game, a real dog. Never buy it. Wish I had not.

Overall its a good game. I like to tinker with the corps composition of troop types. Brigades of infantry on average of 1000 men to start, then bumped to 1200, then to 1500 seems to work rather well. Its not just about packing your brigades full of troops but the number of smaller brigades can flank large enemy brigades on the map. when the enemy retreats in like to bring my Calvary full force to run them to the edges of the map. Concentrating on army organization, medicine, training and logistics first really makes a difference. Barely halfway through the confederate campaign i have 4 corps and field 25000 infantry, 6000 Calvary(8 brigades of 750 troops each mostly swords and a few with rifles) on my primary corps with all infantry and cannons on the rest it almost too easy. The best part is when the AI changes a little bit from the previous campaign run. It almost seems like I am actually playing a real novice player on the other end.

The game has no tutorial at all. It's biggest negative is that it is nearly impossible to play with the zero information on how the game works that it gives you. I very much recommend checking out some content on this available on sites such as you tube. Once you are familiar with how it works, it is very similar to the old Civil War Generals game which is a very big positive.
This is a wonderfully made game! Very good on historical correctness and awesome strategy options. Buy this game!
Fun Civil War game. I mainly just played it for the historical battles and not the campaign. Relatively easy and simple to play while still feeling engaging and era-appropriate.
just got this game and it absolutely sucks you cannot ever win at any level or any rank you will always loose i would like to get my money back some how even when you occupy the specific objectives it will tell you that you lost when you set up your army the opposing team will have more men more guns more cavalry and more money you will never ever win
Some of the mechanics are confusing and annoying but god I love this game
Great simulation - real weapons, great real time game play
