Here is a sandbox like no other. Create massive battles with absolutely no limits. Want to see 10,000 chickens fight an army of Romans?? Sure, why not. Want to see a company of WW2 U.S soldiers fight 11,000 Medieval soldiers?? There are simply no limits to the carnage you can achieve in UEBS.
TLDR: Strong Workshop support, but very shallow gameplay. Fun for brief chaos experiments, yet repetitive, clunky to use, and lacking depth.

PROS:
➕Steam Workshop integration
NEUTRALS:
🔹No achievements 🔹Good music…but there’s a single track(?)
CONS:
➖Feels a bit like a proof of concept ➖Unit placement is cumbersome Update 2/16/2026: Lowered final score from 5 to 4 due to UEBS2 doing everything better. Still don't think either is worth it, but if 5 is the average, then UEBS2 represents the new average baseline. UEBS2 review here
Content (Game world/Narrative) – [4/10]
The game world consists of the simulation setup GUI and the levels themselves. There’s around ~10 different levels with the only real differences being biomes. The levels seem to serve little purpose other than a pathing route and some small immersive factor. There is no narrative other than the story you make up in your own mind as to why 10,000 chickens are fighting Thanos.
Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – [5/10]
There isn’t much gameplay here, the bulk of the game serves as a battle simulator (surprise!), while the only other mode is an FPS zombie mode where you fight increasing waves of zombies as a WW2 soldier. So obviously the main draw here is the battle sim sandbox mode. You pick a unit, pick the number, pick the position, and off you go to see who wins. The novelty quickly wears off when you realize it's little more than a mathematics rock-paper-scissors. Each unit is melee or ranged and has very little uniqueness other than maybe a knockback effect. Otherwise, whether its Hulk, Chuck Norris, or a WW2 soldier, they all seem to behave the same relative to a ranged or melee unit. Each unit has attack and hit points, so it’s really just smashing things together for fun. And it is fun, don’t get me wrong. I chuckled when my 1000 chickens beat a T-Rex. But…there’s not much to do here.
Graphics (Quality/Technical) – [5/10]
Seems okay for an early 2010s game. I would say this is around PS3-era graphics, but the true test seems to be the number of on-screen units. I did a battle of 100,000 vs 50, and it brought my PC to a crawl, hovering around 10 FPS. On the technical side, I noticed no bugs or issues other than the slowdown by excessive units. i9-13900KF | RTX 4090 | 64GB RAM | 1440p @ 240hz | Windows 11 installed on SSD
Audio – [5/10]
There’s a great epic battle song…but I think there’s only 1? And it loops? I noticed it playing in almost every game I played. It started to get repetitive. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of voice acting, but units do have some lines.
Replay Factor (Longevity) – [5/10]
I’d say the replay value here has the potential to be huge, but also insanely repetitive. There is an infinite number of combinations of units, unit numbers, maps, you can test, and this number only increases when you add in Workshop mods. …but that being said, you’re doing the same thing every time. Just a game of rock-paper-scissors.
Final Verdict – [4/10]
Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator (UEBS) is exactly what it’s advertised as and no more. It’s a battle simulator that comes out of the box with maybe ~25 different units. There is/was a fairly expansive modding scene so you are presented with the option immediately upon logging in to download mods. These can add some really fun units, like Yoda fighting battle droids, or an epic showdown between Thanos and Hulk (Thanos wins easily). After only playing for a few short hours, you’ll come to realize you’ve completed the gameplay loop already numerous times. Like a child able to entertain themselves with Legos for hours, this game is fueled only by the creativity of its player, as the repetitive interaction consists of nothing more than setting up units and watching them duke it out. This is tough to recommend because while it is a sandbox, it’s a sandbox of only a few tools that can only be used a single way, leading to quickly Overall, I think this is a game that will heavily vary from player to player. Do you find yourself playing with Legos and Army Men today? There’s nothing wrong with that, but it does require a different sort of mindset from someone that wants a more in-depth experience.
Recommend? (Price) [Y/N]

No
Base price of $15 is steep, but respectable if you are able to find enjoyment own your own. Otherwise, get it on sale, it can go as low as $2. The game quality is super poor, do not bother. Some things like old map redactors of age of empires are much(1000) better. Doesn't even worth it even if it was free
good game to play one time
一个只适合给主播玩的游戏,看上去很有意思实际上非常无聊
Very fun who would win sandbox game, would recommend.
超大杯电子斗蛐蛐!!!! 我能看一整天不腻!!!
几乎就是半成品,各方面都很差,不要买
Garbage. There are less than 10 maps which are all very bland and boring. There is no way to make new maps. The AI is ridiculously bad and will just ran back and forth or run into a wall for the entire fight instead of doing anything worthwhile. There is very little control as to where you can spawn the troops you want to spawn and you can only pick 8 spots OR units to spawn. It's a super overpriced garbage game that has very little customization in any way. They also created a 2nd game which is much of the same, pretty much just an update that they are charging even more for. There is just nothing in this "game". There are 3 total screens in the entire game including the main menu, no stats, just nothing. This game should cost 2 dollars or less. 15 dollars? Ridiculous.
Great game! Chickens beat american army! Glory to the chicken empire!
