UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games that span a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs. Our goal is to combine a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 28 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Nintendo publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

In the spirit of "Action 52," most of these games are meh, some are just straight up bad and a few are gems. I just have this weird time going back in forth justifying the price, which really doesn't match the value for the consumer. Also a lot of these games have either the 'mind-reading' AI that reacts to your movements so fast that your only option is to cheese them, a few had colliders that were just, and I don't know any other way to say this, incorrect. The alien shooting game, you can get hit by an explosion or projectile that goes in front of you. Again, the mastery of the artform is cool! But hard to justify 'perfecting an aging artform' of pre-engine development when there's still variable refresh rate, high-resolution and pixel transformations that are designed for 1080p+ and not the original 256x224. I think for this price to match the offerings for me, it would've had to either really stick to the constraints from that time period. Or have sanded off the rough edges an "interpretation" of that era of games would've had. (TL;DR: I'm not a fan of making a game rough and then being like "oh well it's retro." which isn't really applicable if you're not using the constraints of the era or taking the themes of that era into a modern game engine and fine-tuning it.) I feel like with what the product description, word of mouth and presentation of the game, this is a fair stance to take. I think in another life this game was 10$ and I would've said the 3-5 games that stand out are worth it and I'd keep my nerdy little 90's rant in my little dumb 90's brain. But this is 2.5x that price and I keep seeing this game put on a pedestal for something it's not trying to do and I can't enjoy it as an art and I don't find it fun to play. 6.4/10 . (I played for about 15 hours total, the eight on record and about 7 more with friends playing multiplayer)

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I too wish I could disguise poor game design and frustrating mechanics as "old school hard" or "unique for the time" If there's more to the simple collection of unfun games to play, you'll struggle to get anywhere within a single one of them to potentially discover it. If there's not more to this, and the facade is truth, well that just makes it even worse then, doesn't it? They've come up with a way to weaponize video game sins and preexisting, known game flaws to scam us all, and that's honestly genius, if it wasn't criminally negligent. Please do not pick this up, even with morbid curiosity. Painful.
If you are patient enough to test the games to find the ones you like, it is basically impossible for this package to not be worth the money. Beyond that, the meta narrative and progression and homage to 80s and early 90s in gaming is delightful and impressive.
Your opinion of UFO50 will revolve around your tolerance for sifting through the bad and mediocre to get to the few titles that tickle your fancy. I just can't help but feel I would have enjoyed a UFO10 more.
Its not all bangers i wuld say, but its so many great games that it still is worth getting there will be a few games in this collection for u. Easily worth money
can't believe onion delivery came with 49 other games an absolute delicacy of a collection that deserves nothing but praise, i can't imagine you couldn't find ONE game that clicks with you.
You won't like every game in the collection, but each game is of such high quality and polish that even if you only find a few that you like it's still worth it.
Sadly I have to give this a down vote. Great concept, and I am nostalgic for some games from that era. But for anyone who experienced the golden age of early consoles, all the way back to Atari, the truth is, most of the games were bad. This is the case for UFO 50. There were some good games that I enjoyed for a while, but most, 40+ were so bad I stopped playing in a minute or two. An argument can be made hey, you liked a few games, you played 7 hours, it's worth the sale price. I will grant that. BUT, dusting off those titles should have had a gleam of anticipation, of excitement, that a good game was lurking close-by. That faded quickly as dud after dud was revealed.
Ugh, how do you even review a hodgepodge of games like this? Some are good, some are mediocre, a few are garbage, a few are delightful. Compared to modern games they're relatively short, a nice bunch of experiences that don't demand a huge time investment to enjoy. A number of them are also old-school hard, so you don't need to invest a lot of time in them, unless you want to actually beat them. And it's got a cute little tamagotchi pig homeowner that you can give gifts to slowly fill up their barren house with. It's pleasant. I haven't played them all, but here's my partial tier list if it helps: Worth the price on its own (1): Mini & Max I liked it (8): Bug Hunter, Magic Garden, Devilition, Warptank, The Big Bell Race, Caramel Caramel, Rock On! Island, Fist Hell, I didn't hate it (4): Golfaria, Camouflage, Bushido Ball, Party House I did hate it (3): Barbuta, Campanella, Block Koala, This isn't a game, it's an acid fueled fever dream (1): Mooncat
