About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

Its a solid lil tank game with good fundamentals. I wish the devs luck on it, it can be a bit crowded a market, but I prefer this one over the alternatives, it has some fresh options for mobility and scouting.

This game rocks! An absolute blast every round. Just make sure you play it like chess instead of checkers, they weren't kidding when they mentioned that understanding enemy positions is information warfare. If you aren't careful, you'll get spotted and shot down pretty quick! They said they didn't want it to be a twitch shooter, and it's not... until you're out of position and someone shoots out your tracks, then everyone comes knocking and it's on to the next match! Matches are short enough that even the most crippling loss just leads to new understanding, grown wisdom and caution, and a better next match. Godspeed, tankers, and if you're an Ikarus pilot, then fly safe o7
Easy game to play. No complicated controls. Having fun with it! Wish there was an in game chat feature.

WAAAGH
Arcadey game where you're incredibly dependant on teammates reacting and cooperating, and lack proper all-rounder options enabling you to play safely enough to not get reamed when other people make mistakes. Tanks also feel miserable to play until you've unlocked a few upgrades. This is because a tank's core functionality is often not available until you've unlocked it, meaning that for the first few games you're playing a neutered version of the vehicle against people who often have access to the full features of their tanks. Limited ability to communicate with teammates, likely to prevent toxicity, but an expanded chat wheel may help. Do not play without friends. Stay on voice chat, communicate, do not trust pubbies to work with you. Unfortunately, teams of 3 of the same tank can often be extremely effective, and the group size is 3. 3 kestrels can be deadly to any tank. The same is true for many light tanks, with a lack of effective counters in the game thus far. Mauls, the heavy tank, are similarly destructive in groups. It may ultimately require a role queue to prevent stuff like scout rushing or maul balls, which can cause you to lose the game at tank selection, or it's going to require new tanks specifically designed to counter these strats in which case you'll lose if you don't have the tanks unlocked or equipped. The game rounds are short, which can be a benefit, but even with short matchmaking times (sub 30s) you're going to be waiting a while between matches, which can be incredibly frustrating when learning a new tank. You'll spend more time waiting to play the game than playing the game. Even when nothing goes really wrong, people tend to rush into combat in masses of smaller tanks and then die very quickly, so games only last about a minute or two at most. I want to like this game. Strong art style and I think some of the tank abilities are interesting. The aiming system is solid. I'm continuing to play it for now, but if you're not already committed you may want to keep looking. That goes double if you're like me and sensitive to feeling helpless because your team of mediums tried to brawl with the maul ball and now you're just doing your best to earn some points before your inevitable defeat. Nothing worse than doing everything you can and failing due to things you can't control, especially when they thing you can't control is three or four ikaruses dive-bombing you because your team ran in and died like morons. That said, there's still a lot of neat stuff here, a lot of cool customization. You may just need to grind a lot to have fun; you've been warned. I've decided to change this to a thumbs-up because it's in EA and may improve. Just...you've been warned, ok?
