About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

Strategy beats twitch reflexes - Run and gun gameplay gets punished by careful positioning and slow, deliberately placed shots to disable enemies

(Add ~95h of game time from the prior playtests) This is coming from a WorldOfTanks player of 12 years, and attmepted WarThunder player... F**king FINALLY someone understood the assignment and made a good tank game! It has actual build diversity and room for creativity. Tons of room to mess around and have fun. I never wanted to stop a TYR session and I always ended the night feeling like I had a blast. The community is fantastic as well <3 You can tell that the game was designed to be fun - it's as simple as that. It respects your time, and learns from where other games fell flat. Please do not turn away from the fact that the tanks are not the usual "historical WWII" lineup. Unless you 100% need a historical lineup of tanks in your game, give this game a try. If nothing else, it showcases how bad the other offers in the space really are.
Amazing game and surprisingly deep. It’s everything you miss about Robocraft combat and speed.

Finally a tank game that respects your time and wallet. Already played this for 33h in the playtest phase. Some people left bad reviews because during launch there were server hiccups because of the big player number surge, but the devs are super engaged with the community and fixed it within 20mins (which is really quick for that kind of thing imo).
Won a few, lost a few. Pretty fun tank game. Maining Arbalest. Yup, that's me in the bushes hitting you with a Siege Shot, disabling your mods.
Had 173h in the playtest prior to the EA release. Definitely give Tyr a try as it might hit that tank game itch you might have if you're an ex-War Thunder player like myself or even have had history with WoT. Completely F2P and largely great about respecting the players' time with a dev team that tends to listen to feedback (and play their own game!) Only paid elements now and in future will be purely cosmetic. This brought whimsy back into my soul.

Arbalest 🥰
played over 50 hours of the playtest and as long as the playerbase is there this game will be fun for a long time. Very fun tanky wanky
Just jumped into Tyr on Steam and man, this tank game hits different. It’s not your usual spray-and-pray vehicle shooter. Positioning, armor angles, and spotting actually matter a ton, so every fight feels like a proper mind game instead of pure reaction speed. The tanks all have their own personality and cool abilities, the maps are solid, and the whole thing runs smooth for an Early Access launch. Feels super fresh compared to the usual tank games out there. Already hooked and looking forward to more content. Definitely worth checking out if you like tactical multiplayer.
