About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

Very good game, people claiming that bushcamping is op have smoll pp 😎
If WoT is CSGO (or CS2), then Tyr is Valorant version of it. It combines all the best aspect of the HP based tank shooter with special abilities and skill upgrades to make it a more fun arcadey experience without the mundane grindiness that made me quit WoT and War Thunder in the first place. It takes a bit of learning curve to learn your roles, map knowledge and knowing what to do at any given moment and positioning in order to win but is very rewarding when everything goes according to plan.

I don't understand what is going on xD I get one-shotted accross the map and then get told to leave and find a new game that takes about 2 minutes to find one, I then join the new game and someone has a pay-to-win tank that fires 5 shots across the map in 2 seconds and I'm dead again with the only option being "leave and find a new game" I guess this is not a game for casual players?
Best multiplayer tank game. Goodbye Warthunder, you will not be missed.
Highly Recommend!
I never played tank shooters, but saw an ad for this on youtube and liked the colors. Plus you there's a tank here that turns into a fighter jet. How cool is that. This game is easy to pick up, and hard to master. I would definitely recommend checking this game out.
TL;DR: I really enjoyed my hours with Tyr, and I suggest you give it a try, too, if you enjoy a hero shooter-like tank game with a variety of playstyles and build-making options. In the span of 35 hours I played Tyr, I got to unlock almost every tank in the game, probably played over a couple of hundred matches, and tried various builds. Tyr is really easy to learn, but the skill ceiling is very high; if you'd like to get really good in the game, you need to have a lot of practice with various builds and even play in sandbox mode to come up with strategies. Tanks in Tyr have mastery levels; they don't come with everything unlocked. Getting a tank up to level 20 unlocks three components, two shell types, and all the skill points for that tank, and getting a tank to level 20 roughly takes about an hour or two at max if you are at least decent in the game. The mastery system makes you a sitting duck until you get to unlock some build-making options, but it did not bother me. The components and shells are what make a build in Tyr, and they are locked behind the in-game currency. Every tank can use other tanks' components, but you need to pay 10K silver to unlock a component for a single tank. Every tank can use every shell type as far as I have experienced, but unlocking an additional shell type for a single tank costs 7.5K silver. I did not run into any silver issues in this game while also experimenting with a good amount of builds for different tanks, but you should know that you can't experiment too freely. One obvious positive thing is that there are no P2W elements in the game. Tanks unlock one by one through getting EXP, and everything else, except for the cosmetics, is locked behind an easy-to-acquire in-game currency. The monetization of the game is really fair, and if you'd like to support the developers at this point, you can get a founder pack and a few cosmetics. Regarding balancing, I can't make a lot of comments as I haven't played ranked, but only casual matches. However, some map types obviously favor certain team compositions over others, so if you'd like to stay with casual matches, it is almost always a coin flip whether you win or lose. Another highlight is Tyr's community. Both the moderators and the playerbase are really chill, and people are open to both teaching and playing with each other. The developers mentioned that Discord authorization will not be required for clans after an upcoming update, so that's another thing to note, as you may have seen in other reviews. My final suggestion is that if you'd like to enjoy Tyr, you definitely should play with at least one teammate. Most players are really, really bad at coming up with and executing a strategy. Unless you play with a teammate, it is really hard to endure the incapabilities of others. To summarize, although I probably won't play Tyr much more, I had fun with it and would suggest you do the same by grabbing a friend and jumping in. The game is well monetized, the progression systems are clear, and it has a solid foundation for a potentially bigger game in the future.
DO NOT LINK YOUR DISCORD ACCOUNT. The predatory TOS and scummy things they want to do with it is a sign to steer clear of this game. Many don't know about the discord account situation so please be careful and spread the word.
It's a fun game for what it does. The tanks should be a tad more role oriented, or rather the roles between light/medium/heavy should be more apparent. The gaps between those is not very much there when there's mauls (heavy tank) who can drive as fast as Ikarus' (light tank). Plus the abilities should be a bit more front and center, they seem more like a "oh if you maybe have enough energy you can use it" kinda deal, rather than the more moba oriented "costs nothing, just has a cd" approach
easy to pick up, hard to master. very fun
