About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

really didnt think i would love it because im not a world of tanks fan nor a hero shooter fan and the best way i can describe this is as a tank hero shooter but the combat is so fun and the matches are long enough to have tight clutches and epic team battles but also quick enough so its not overly drawn out. getting killed early even makes you want to pop out and start another. constantly just one more match mindset. ability to mix and match tank components adds an extra level of experimentation and stat maxing that isnt too difficult to comprehend. would love to see more cosmetics but overall im very pleased with tyr
Pretty fun. Pretty freakin' fun.

Solid PvP game that is deceptively easy to get into. Once you start leveling tanks and earning SLVR (in-game currency used for mods and shells), it really opens up with new possible builds and synergies for just about every tank. I think they have some way to go as far as visuals, but everything I've seen from the devs indicate they are fully onboard to make this a great game. Excellent, realistic communication with their fans. I highly suggest it if you enjoy "slow", strategic vehicle combat.
Enjoyable, just flat out enjoyable. Its not War Thunder but its also not really World of Tanks....though some say its closer to that second one then the other. But in simple fun factors and enjoyment Tyr wins hands down vs WoT. No Bloody Gold Ammo. Tanks each have a role and style that works...or doesn't. Some are bloody enjoyable if you land a solid team or in most cases get a good chunk of luck! Some feel like they flat out suck at first starting out, then you figure them out a bit more, unlock some more items for them (work on all tanks as they each have unique options you have too unlock with them first before other tanks can also use them) that can help there style and yours build up nicely. A new level 1 tank can still go head to head with enemies at 20+, might not be easy if you clearly have no clue what's what but you can still easily win flat out. No in game chat/voice chat that I'm aware of at this moment so you'd have too use things like discord or others to talk with friends and the game does have squads available to team up. The games worth trying, honestly you can enjoy a few matches at the end of the day even if they go full time at 10 minutes, easy game to enjoy a little bit after work before crashing in bed.
Crashes the second I try to load into a game.
Super fun and really polished for a new game! I haven't run into many bugs and the combat is simple to understand, but has a high ceiling. Coming over from tanki online and world of tanks, if feels like a nice mix of simulator and arcade. What I like the most about this game is that the heavy tanks have weakspots and light tanks can do good damage. This makes combat more interactive and less hulldown compared to world of tanks.
the process of getting to the tank you want to play is often annoying, but as soon as you find your tank it just clicks easily the best tank game of the year
I like the game itself mechanically but I'm not really sure why a game with such a naturally small playerbase is built upon single instance matchmaking. I get the game was kind of built around this sort of mm, but when you create such a niche game you'd think you would build it around a lowpop in mind. At certain times of day and regions you're going to be playing against and with the same 15 people anyways, the time to find a match is usually about as long as a game is for the most part too so I'm not sure why there is no lobby system in order.
I'm giving a positive review because i think this game has potential. but the "sniper" tanks completely ruin every match. It turns into boring hide and seek when your down to 4v4 or less. and thats if anyone moves. The arbalest and ark are just sitting in a bush on a hill across the map EVERY SINGLE TIME, at least one a match. Now you can either nerf the long range tanks (which would then defeat there purpose), or change the match structure itself. Maybe make the capture point in the center of the map after a period of time, have more "enclosed" maps, or have a BR-esque ring force all tanks into close combat. Either way, rn the matches all end the same way: who can find the bush with the best vantage point and sit in it the longest...
It's a classic shooter game, no pay to win, and you have tanks! It runs well, even on my potato, there's a bunch of players - I like it!
