Went into the game expecting to discover fun secrets, but personally the combat was so annoying, especially how enemies keep float away where you can't reach them and you need to
rope them in with the orb looking thing
multiple times, the shield doesn't block properly sometimes, and the auto focus feature doesn't want to cooperate. I stopped playing the game in my first playthrough. Came back to it after months of not playing, but after being stuck again with having to deal with enemies constantly and becoming frustrated with how bad the auto focus works made me realize why I disliked the gameplay initially. Maybe if I can get through the annoying part and explore some secrets, that could change my mind, but I feel like I haven't even reached a point in the game where I can finally start looking for secrets. I'd rather play something else with less annoying combat system.

A beautiful isometric exploration game created as a love letter to older games of the 80s, and that passion can clearly be seen in every aspect of the game. From beautiful environments and soundtracks, to satisfying exploration and combat, to some of the most unique and intriguing mechanics found in gaming. A made-up language that your little fox can’t discover and a collectable manual that provides limited info drive the game’s introduction, while secrets that have been hiding in plain sight present themselves once you’ve accrued knowledge of this world. The sense of completion in this game is unmatched, and will serve as one of the most entertaining and clever games I have ever played.
extreme frustrating combat and save system.
Honestly, I'm really impressed, and I think it offers a unique experience. I've never seen such great level design, lore and puzzles all packed into one cute indie game before. I knew when the game was released that I'd love it, and now that I've played it, I'm so glad I waited, because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to appreciate other games as much. Tunic is in a league of its own - a pure masterclass in game development. There are so many fun things to do, and so much to discover just by reading the manual. It's a great concept that has been executed really well. It's so much fun when you discover something in the manual and suddenly realise, "I could do that from the very beginning!?". Chef's kiss. This is especially true with the fast travel and that damned holy cross thing. Side note: there's a weird little thing with some religious subtext in this game (which is just my interpretation - I'm not a religious person). It's a minor spoiler out of context, but you can always just pray and wield the cross, which I find interesting.
Real fun game, hella charming.
English Version (french below) : It's a very unique game. It's very 2D Zelda inspired, and the art direction is very nice, but I'm honestly not sure whether or not this game was for me or not. I didn't really click with it to be completely honest. Could have been the wrong time honestly, but I do recognize its quality. It's definitely a game you should take your time for, really pause to think about what you know and what you've seen. It's not Outer Wilds, but in the same way, the experience is mostly learning about the game progressively. I just didn't particularly found the gameplay or the environments that engaging and I found the music good but not anything crazy It's a great game, try it out and unlike me, don't rush, take your time with it Version Française : C'est un jeu très unique.
