Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Sep 15 → 19.25/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is everything I'd want from a remake. Faithful retelling of the story, modern iteration of the classic trails games' turn based combat, good voice acting and a beautiful rendition of the characters and the world.
Typically I am not one for JRPGs. I have dabbled in a few of the Persona titles and Xenoblade but overall I find many JRPGs derivative and longwinded at best and downright embarrassing at worst. I am an appreciator of our friends across the pond, and I have enjoyed anime and Japanese videogames for years but in the Post-FF7 world a lot of JRPGs are essentially glorified movies with strategic combat set pieces in between. I enjoyed Trails. The original being from 2004 I think bodes really well and we see an era of JRPG development with more ideas and originality. The yapping is kept to an acceptable level, but even so the quality of the character writing in this game stands ahead of many of other JRPGs. Xenoblade for instance has a mixed bag of characters, but Estelle and Joshua beat the brakes off of the Xenoblade leads for my money. The tropes are kept under control, you'll still see villains escaping after being beaten time and time again, mysterious anime swordsmen goading you, and so on, but these are genre trappings you have to embrace on their own terms. Overall trails shows restraint in this department. The plot isn't earth shattering and is mostly there to move the character stories along. The end of the game poses some interesting questions and reveals and leaves our leads in an interesting place, enough to make me start on the second game right away. The relationship between the dual protagonists is really the heart of the games narrative. Combat in a JRPG is like a puzzle. They give you some of the pieces in the beginning of the game, and then the rest trickle in by the half way mark. The remainder of the game is about assembling the picture properly, and once you've solved it the game is sort of over. Trails is no exception. I found learning the orbment system pretty fun, and had a good time toppling the last bosses with my refined strategies. Not much more to say about the gameplay, the sidequests are pretty much fetch quests or optional combat encounters, which were fine. I liked the setting of the game as well. JRPGs are partial to these modernizing fantasy worlds but I liked the way Liberl looked for the most part. Sort of a Magitek-Edwardian England. Or Prussia Maybe. The orbment revolution and it's consequences have been a disaster for Erebonia. The setting was part of the story in a way that mattered, I am curious to see the scope of the game hopefully widen in the sequel as we pretty much only get to explore the tiny kingdom of Liberl in this game. Personally, the localization was mostly okay. I could smell some dialogue that felt colored by modern sensibilities but it wasn't out of hand. You can tell the game was written before 2010 because there are male characters who actually hit on women, which is always nice. The Japanese maintain the Eros in a way the west no longer entertain. Olivier is the voice of generation crying out for Romance. Absolute Kino.

Good stuff. Underrated JRPG. Never played the original but this was a great entry to the series. Can't wait for the second one and hope they remake the third one too.
This was my first time playing any game in this series and I went into it totally blind (I tried the demo for around 7 hours and then decided to buy the full game). I found most of the characters annoying and too tropey, the story was very predictable, and the cutscenes were way too long. And I loved the whole thing. Honestly, I have no idea how to explain it. I disliked so many individual elements of this game. And yet, it was completely engrossing and utterly charming. I played through the whole game multiple times (although I did skip the cutscenes on replay). While the characters never stopped being annoying stereotypes, they all really grew on me and I started to really care about them. The combat had surprising depth to it and the game keeps adding new elements to it every chapter. I think some of its strength comes from the story structure. Yes, the actual plot was pretty predictable. All the "oh no, s/he was the villain all along!" moments were completely transparent. Despite that, there was a lot the narrative did right. It starts of small scale and local like many RPGs do (you know, the classic "kill the rats in the cellar" type quests) but it escalates and deescalates in a more realistic manner. Frequently, your characters stumble upon a bigger conspiracy, handle whatever is the immediate problem, and then hand it off to more experienced characters to handle while returning to quests that pair better with their level of experience. It created an interesting story structure where the stakes kept fluctuating between smalltime errands and global conspiracy theories and that change in pace really helped keep me engaged. Play the free demo if you aren't sure; you can play the entire prologue which could easily take 6-10 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore the world. And don't worry, your progress carries over. However, I feel confident recommending it regardless. You will absolutely get your money's worth. I wishlisted the sequel long before I actually completed this one and I am eagerly anticipating its release next month.
this game is genuinely fire. character building on par with persona 4. combat never gets boring either
What this game is - extremely linear game where nothing depends on your actions. No progression (except levels), no abilities, no open world, nothing. At least they've put some effort into characters and visuals. Thats the only pros. The leveling system seems to be there just for grinding. The way to make battles difficult - just increase the health points on oponents to like 30 times more than the player, but only when the player battles those opponents. That can clearly be visible in last chapter during tournament. When game just shows other battles it can clearly be seen that after getting 3000-4000 damage health of certain characters falls more than by half. Seconds later the player meets SAME characters in a battle. Oh what a surprise, now they have like 90000 health each (and I did not make a mistake with extra zeroes). Due to that fact many battles even against monsters are very long and very boring. They can be ended quickly, but then most powerful "magic" needs to be used which costs too much EPs. So all the game is basically saving EPs and then unleashing them on bosses. Same thing again and again and again. And near the end - even more long battles for which you basically no longer gain any meaningful amount of XPs because... why not? That said this game should have cost 40€ max. Way overpriced!
Estelle is the best female character Japan has ever given us.
Super RPG!
Thanks to this game I cry every time I see empty benches at the park. I rate this game a 9/10. It would be perfect if more of the dialogue were voiced.
مراجعة بدون حرق Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
