game is super fun w friends if ur creative
DLC often goes on sale for a few bucks, it's worth getting for the materials and to keep the multiplayer portion available if you enjoy building games and silly physics this is the game for you.
Trailmakers - What if EA made sandbox racing games?
This game is one of those games that I bought because at a glance looks cool, but after a while I realize it's just my buyer's remorse kicking in. Come to think of it, this game doesn't even have that much content if you don't count the sandbox mode. Maybe because a major chunk of it, which includes parts and even separate campaigns are locked behind DLC like an EA game! Without any of the DLCs, you only get access to 2 (rather short) campaigns. The first one being Stranded, which is basically collecting parts stuck in various parts across the map to build your spaceship and return home. The other one is moreso a main campaign mode, but still extremely short. All you have to do is follow the main story missions until you're told to battle the drill, then...you battle the drill. Maybe you also get access to sandbox maps and a racing mode where you have to beat the best time while using a selection of blocks, but if you want to experience the full game, you have to purchase the equivalent of a AAA game to get every single block and every single campaign map. I was trying to like this game, a lot. But I just cannot in my clear conscience recommend this game whatsoever. The building mechanics are alright, even if it takes a bit to get used to, but I just can't get past the fact that you have to pay if you want to build anything that looks even remotely cool or complex.

DLCs seem a bit paywall-y to me, but it's really fun to make ♥♥♥♥♥♥ contraptions and I've been doing it since 2021 so that counts for something. Recommended.
