Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 10 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
A voice is saying your name. A WWII-era machine, long hidden in a church basement, whirs to life. Through a crackling speaker, a man asks you to find a stolen book. He only knows the title. Time is running out.
The machine, created by Bletchley Park engineers Cecil Caulderly and Beatrice Dooler, contains a vast archive of obscure books, letters, and journals fed in over the span of fifty years in an attempt to crack the code of reality. As their lives fell apart, the machine kept working.
Navigate the computer’s archive. Link its obscure texts and uncover its creators’ secrets. Communicate with the man behind the speaker to figure out your role in this mystery. Destroy the book at the core of the machine — before it’s too late.
Deduce links through the archive to locate hidden sources.
Unravel the stories and unearth the secrets of the books’ authors and the machine's creators.
Map the archive and find the book that will rewrite the world.
Talk with your handler at any time, creating a dynamic audio drama that responds as you explore.
Featuring the voices of Rebekah McLoughlin (The SCP Archives, Eternal Threads), Paul Warren (A Highland Song, Viewfinder, The Séance of Blake Manor) and Phillipe Bosher (Baldur's Gate 3, Doctor Who, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy).
Original soundtrack by Laurence Chapman (A Highland Song, Heaven's Vault, The Mask of the Rose).
TR-49 takes inspiration from narrative deduction games like The Roottrees are Dead, The Return of the Obra Dinn, Type Help and Her Story, and from audio dramas like The Magnus Archives and ars PARADOXICA.
Written and created by the award-winning team behind Heaven's Vault, Overboard!, and A Highland Song.

Reviews
This game is pretty amazing and engaging. Despite its minimal set (you are the whole time in front of the machine) you get pretty soon sucked into the story. - or better the stories. But maybe they are all connected and it is only one story! It is challenging, but solvable
A short, story-driven puzzle adventure that is interesting but straightforward. The story is interesting enough to carry it, but if you're looking for a real challenge you should probably look elsewhere. Vaguely similar to a low-tech version of The Roottrees are Dead, but with a completely different deduction mechanism. The interface is generally very easy to use, which lets you focus on the content rather than getting in your way.

Does not boot up on Linux Mint. That said, it is fun, just make sure you have a compatible OS.
Highly recommended. Pure science fiction with some interesting characters and world building. A sort of bleak sad version of our past or maybe our future. It's an investigation / detective game where half the game is figuring out the game itself and the other half is figuring out where the story is taking you. In a different game like Inscryption you're playing a game within the game, but you know how card games work. In this game-within-a-game you start from nothing. The pacing is entirely dependent on you. This is the type of game where you will need a pen and paper next to you; you'll have a drought of clues, and then a flood. It's not too long, the clues are fair, the story is interesting (but the one negative of this game is the devs front-loaded the story and dialogue early; it's a distraction), and the resolution is satisfying.
Eerie and satisfying database mystery
Great puzzle game. Had a lot of fun playing it
Great deductive gameplay, however can lead itself to guessing. Story is quite obtuse, but still had fun.
