Tiny Dangerous Dungeons

It's a port of a mini-Metroidvania made for a jam, and while I do think it's rather good with that restriction in mind, there are a few moments which could probably have been further tweaked for optimal experience. I'm glad I grabbed it and financially supported a developer that gave me a great time for free back in the good ol' days of Flash and certainly dug a few of the moments as a MV fan, but it wouldn't be my first pick for a newbie, at least not this version (the game is also on mobile, and it played surprisingly smoothly there, if memory serves me right). It plays fine, but it's essentially one dungeon, one boss and half an hour of gameplay. It has a little bit of metroidvania in it with ability upgrades and very minor backtracking, though it is confined to the point that it really plays more like a regular platformer. Visuals, sound, music is all palatable. There's not enough here for me to give this a positive rec. The sequel has a longer run time (80 minutes) and is worth checking out in a sale for $2.

Tiny Dangerous Dungeon has you run through, indeed, a tiny dungeon and collect items. Some will just make life easier, some are needed to surpass the next obstacle - backtracking inclusive. The colour palette and music are reminiscent of the Game Boy era. Controls are good enough. The game feels rewarding and the challenges offer a certain replayability. Recommended.

Pretty short, but still entertaining. The "single level" format makes it different from the rest of the Adventure Islands games.

Fichín que le hace honor a su nombre con lo cortito que es. Desarrollado por dos personas para una jam hace varios años. Plataformero muy sencillo, para distraerse un ratito. En menos de una hora lo completás al 100% porque los secretos no son tan secretos. Parece extraído del catálogo de la GameBoy Color. Mi única crítica es que tiene un bugcito con el menú al cruzar las puertas que a veces te hace volver al último punto de guardado. Es molesto si justo estás volviendo a un punto de guardado o si estás buscando el logro de speedrunearlo.
