Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 5 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Prototype Juan is a fast paced, side scrolling action platformer that blends old school challenge with clever modern design. The first thing you'll notice is the smooth transition from 1 bit to 16 bit worlds. A creative touch that gives the game both style and substance. It's a unique visual experience that feels like stepping through different eras of gaming in real time. For a 1 man project, the attention to detail is impressive. Small design choices, for example, highlighting the keys you've already collected, show the developer understands how to respect the player's time while still maintaining a sense of challenge and exploration. It's a thoughtful feature that keeps you focused on progressing rather than backtracking unnecessarily. Prototype Juan carries shades of classic games like Zelda, Mario, Ninja Gaiden, The Impossible Game, Castlevania and more! Each influence can be felt in its own way, the precision jumps, tight combat timing, trial and error rhythm all combine to create something that feels both nostalgic and new. The gameplay itself is tough but fair. It demands patience, quick reflexes and a willingness to learn from mistakes. You'll die plenty but it never feels cheap. Each attempt pushes you to improve. After beating the game you find yourself wanting more and you get more! There is quite a bit of bonus content you unlock that the developer put thought and time in. The dialogue and in game text also add personality with bits of humor sprinkled throughout real gamers will understand. Overall, Prototype Juan is a standout experience, challenging, stylish and full of heart. It's a must play for fans of retro inspired action games who appreciate a smart mix of difficulty, charm and creaticity.

Very short, about 1 hour to finish the main game. Decent little platformer, somewhat similar to games like Daddish or 100 Pumpkins 2 (which are also really short). 8-Bit Boy is another game that springs to mind too (though that one is a bit longer). The music was exceptional and the controls and overall design was good. This game shows the devs potential, should they decide to try and make something bigger and better. Perhaps if they did do that, the result could be something like the excellent retro platformer; Fallen Leaf. Perhaps that's a stretch, but they've certainly demonstrated their competence and potential with this release.
Haven't had this much fun on a platformer since Celeste! BUY. THE. GAME!
Cute as hell artstyle, tight platforming. Greg suxs
Very cool game. The music throughout is charming, but i want to highlight the music that plays throughout the prototype areas: it is awesome. Can't go wrong for the price. I'm under the impression it's a one man dev team. Regardless, I am getting my enjoyment out of this and will see it to completion. This is a speed runner's game. When I looked at the top and saw how many lives i had, and that there was a timer, i was like, "oh ♥♥♥♥." I do not play games like this. But this is pretty dope. Random thought: I wished death resets were a bit quicker at first, then I came to appreciate the moment it forced me to relax for an extra second. YMMV: Controls feel a bit slippery to me, but I can't tell if that is typical of this type of platformer or not. It feels like it is built for speeding through and not stopping, which I am just not skilled enough to do. A handful of areas have slapped me down to the tune of 20 or so lives, but you end up earning more back from coins I believe (x5 at a time woot!). Stepping too close to a spike and dying as I am setting up to start a sequence had me cracking up. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spiders. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spikes. You need to be precise. It's fun. Highly recommended.
My first playthrough of Prototype Juan was enjoyable but I realized I was really loving it the second time around as a speed run. I consider myself more of a hot runner (reacting in real time) than a speed runner (methodically memorizing levels) so it was the game design choices that actually carried my speed run. No level memorization was needed as the environment already suggests where the player could go next in its branching paths with arrow icons and icons indicating whether items have been cleared in an area. This allowed me to just focus on murdering enemies, blasting through obstacles and maneuvering platforms. I believe that this is also the intended experience: Exploring and taking it slow during the first run and then going into a reactive speed mode the second time around. While Prototype Juan can be difficult in sections, it's extremely forgiving with its 999 base lives. However, most importantly for me, Prototype Juan does not overstay its welcome like many other similar games do. There's also a fun juxtaposition between 1-bit and 16-bit environments that becomes particularly comical when the soundtrack rapidly changes in one section. The whole game can be completed (100%) between 2 and 3 hours. As mentioned above, I strongly advise taking the time to do the speed run after beating the game. The only constructive criticism I can offer is that the controls could be tighter. For example, the attack button and the button held for running should be the same in my opinion. As it stands, the attack button is B on an Xbox controller and the button held for running is X. Apparently, it is possible to tweak the controls using Steam Input but I did not try. Dislaimer: I did receive a copy for review purposes free of charge from the dev. Thank you for the fun experience, Marty PixelRod!
This is my platformer game of the month! :) Very fair.
Im not normally a fan of platformers, but this one is a lot of fun. An absolute blast! Do yourself a favor and pick this one up
Juan heck of a game. Jumps smooth, Jokes smoother.
Very tight platformer. Excellent music and a lot of fun. Greg does indeed fart too much.
