hard = Dark Souls, Sekiro, Nioh harder = Ghosts 'n Goblins extreme = Tinertia

Super fun, super underrated.
The only reason why I have this game is because my dad thought this was Terraria. On his defence though, the words Terraria and Tinteria sound very similar. I decided to finish the game a year after getting it though. it was hell
Fun platformer that fits VR well. You're essentially the camera while you play the game with a controller (sure would love some Index Controller love! hint hint), but it's fun being in there.
It's all in the name: Tinertia is a frenetic gauntlet of momentum. Over the course of seven environments, each consisting of about eight levels and a boss encounter, you will maneuver little robot Weldon across gaps and around hazards using the explosive propulsion of his rocket arm. You also have access to a mid-air dash that is used for finer movements (and saving your ass), but it can only be used once before it must be recharged by landing on a solid surface. Playing on a controller you move Weldon with the left stick, aim/fire rockets with the right stick, and activate the dash with RB. It's an unusual setup, but it gives Tinertia a different feel from most side-scrolling games. The levels (and bosses especially) get fiendishly difficult, and you will be dying and retrying a lot. Mercifully, the levels are fairly short and restarting is instantaneous, keeping you in the zone while you hone your skills. The visuals are vibrant, and the game runs like greased lightning (even on old graphics cards, I would imagine). Music is electronic, but it's not mindless EDM--it buzzes with personality, especially during boss levels, and I found myself bopping along even as I failed again and again. Tinertia is a compact, tight game, clocking in at about six hours for me, though your completion time will depend entirely on skill. In addition to the standard levels, you'll unlock a Gauntlet mode (procedurally generated levels), speedrun and boss rush modes. Oh, and some cute alternate outfits for Weldon. I recommend the game for anyone who enjoys difficult 2D games like Meatboy.
cool
