Humans are long gone. In a world struck by droughts and toxic waste, will your lumberpunk beavers do any better? A sandbox city-building game featuring ingenious animals, vertical architecture, water physics, and terraforming. Contains high amounts of wood.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 15.43/day in the week to Sep 4 → 33.43/day in the week after.
About
Mankind turned Earth into a dry wasteland and perished, but some species adapted and evolved. Pick one of the beaver factions and see how long your colony can last.
Control one of two beaver factions: the nature-friendly Folktails or the industrious Iron Teeth. Each faction has unique buildings, technology, and gameplay traits. Choose what fits your playstyle!
Prepare your settlement for recurring droughts and waves of toxic waste. Stockpile food and keep fields and forests alive even after rivers dry up. Rely on both natural water sources and artificial irrigation to keep the land arable and your beavers safe.
Beavers’ engineering skills are legendary. With Timberborn’s 3D water physics and terraforming, so can be yours. Put up dams and floodgates, erect massive aqueducts, dig canals and tunnels with explosives, and reshape the terrain to your liking.
Harness the game’s unique vertical architecture system. Space is limited, so stack lodges and workshops on top of each other. Construct platforms and bridges, set up an elaborate power grid, and let your beavers speed around on ziplines or through tubeways.
Turn timber into sophisticated machinery – from water wheels and lumber mills to engines and mechanized pumps. Wood is the core resource in Timberborn, but the most advanced structures require metal. To find it, send your scavengers to the ruins of the old world.
Automate tasks across your settlement by creating an intricate system of sensors, relays, counters, and other tools for advanced engineers. Self-controlling dams and factories are just the beginning.
Supercharge your colony with mechanized beavers. Power them up, maintain them, and you'll get extra-efficient workers for almost any job. They operate 24/7, and you can send them to the most hazardous areas.
Build a sprawling city with efficient production chains and follow the lives of its inhabitants day and night. As the population grows, satisfy your evolved rodents with a balanced diet, entertainment, decorations, and end-game monuments that help restore the Earth.
Play on one of the included maps or create your own and share it with the community. On top of the built-in map editor, Timberborn features official mod support. Tons of extra player-made content and quality-of-life additions are available, with more coming each day.
Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.

Reviews
I'll start with the best part: At easy and medium difficulties, this is a city builder game. You build your buildings, watch your beavers go about their day, and have the challenge of managing your resources and water. At hard difficulty, Timberborn becomes a puzzle game. The first third of the game is an intensely focused experience of understanding the map you're in, solving its water-management puzzle, and achieving a safe, automated settlement before the first badtide hits. The game works well in both scopes. It poses a challenge that you can overcome with enough focus, or a relaxed, beautiful experience, depending on your needs at the time. My only gripe with the game: the endgame, especially once you start building your final wonder, when all water problems are already solved, means leaving the game running in the background for hours and hours. I made the entire map a green wood farm - my industry fully developed and run by robots that never sleep - and one whole evening and morning later I'm still building that wonder. At this point the game is finished, there is nothing for me as a player to do to improve things - but it needs to run its course.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is different than any other city builder. In fact, you may not LIKE it if you normally enjoy city builders. You see, in this game, you actually do a lot of BUILDING. Not just placing buildings - although there's a lot of that - but stacking buildings. Connecting buildings. Connecting sensors and switches to buildings. Using water physics to solve problems so the water won't get into your buildings. This game is very sandboxy. It is just you, the beavers, and the hot, occasionally dry, and often polluted world that humans left behind. You could focus on helping your beavers thrive in their new home: Build beautiful condos overflowing with contemplative shrines, park benches, and shrubs (and I mean BUILD condominiums. There is no condo building. There are smaller dwellings and platforms and stairs and you can stack them into a thing of terraced beauty, many stories high, if you so wish. Give them a zipline to come down with!) Build dams and clear polluted areas to build your own little Beaver Eden, and maybe some bots to do the hard work so your beavers can relax. Or you can play the game like it is a puzzle. Figure out the most efficient way to extract nutrition and water from the land. Work your cooperative, hardworking beaver colonists until your city is a mechanical marvel, with automatic sensors opening and closing sluice gates depending on the water level, degree of pollution in the water, and even time of day. No matter how you play, every game will be a discovery. You'll discover that you can do THIS with THAT kind of structure and wonder why you never noticed before. You'll set goals for yourself, like, "can I build a beaver city that is basically underground?" or "what if every beaver in the colony lived in the same mega-tower?" and whatever plan you conceive your hard working beavers will cheerfully try to achieve it... as long as they can get a nice swim and some tasty food at the end of the day. You will also have tragedies. An extra long drought or a mistake with your dams may result in the poisoning of every farm you have, or all of your water being consumed by your increased population. Famines can dwindle your beaver population down to a bottleneck from which you may rebuild. You will feel bad for your beavers. You will try to do better. Just also remember to go to bed at some point.

Great game but ran out of stuff to do and felt like it wasn't quite complete.
yes.
Probably one of my favorite games in this genre of all time. Amazing physics and attention to detail. The replayability is off the charts. The developer's ongoing support and the mod community make this a no-brainer. If you're on the fence -- don't be.
I'm 55 years old at the time of writing this. I've played 100's and 100's of PC games. There is nothing like Timberborn. This may possibly be my favorite city builder type game of all time.
