It's a game that you should definitely try, the pixel art is beautiful and the music is impressive. Mechanics are fine. If you are interested in such games, definitely try it. If you haven't heard of it, give it a try.
This game is a charming and delightful sidescrolling adventure. The graphics and sound design are top-notch, creating a magical and immersive world for the player to explore. The gameplay is challenging but rewarding, with plenty of treasure to find and secrets to uncover. The townsfolk are interesting and add depth to the world, while the square shaped mushrooms are a fun and quirky touch. Overall, TIM-TIM 2: "THE ALMIGHTY GNOME" is a must-play for anyone who loves adventure games.

Basically alright. Metroidvania with some Zelda-esque dungeons. Not all spells have unlock utility and there's no "dungeon will now test your mastery" moments though, so structure can feel a bit strange at times. Could use a bit of balancing here and there (countered by the rather powerful potions you can carry) as there are some weird difficulty spikes and using some of the offensive spells feels almost mandatory (your melee option is extremely close range and some of the hazards are not easily dodgeable. Some of the pickups are rather well hidden as I combed the map (on that note, there is no in-game map) to a degree I considered thorough but ended with 97% still. Backtracking is rewarded well enough, even if compared to other Metroidvanias the amount of unique pickups can feel somewhat sparse.
I highly recommend this game because it's really fun to play. The animation, quality, and sound/music effects of the game are great. It's very relaxing to play, even if you're losing in the game, you won't get stressed. It brings back my childhood games. I really enjoy the boss fights in this game as they are really exciting and challenging. The story is also great, and I plan to finish the game until I complete the story.
