Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Thief II is an all time great stealth game. I think its predecessor is just a little bit better, but this game holds up due to its excellent level design and stealth mechanics. Worth a playthrough for anyone even slightly interested in stealth games. 9/10
One of the very first examples of the newly minted "First Person Sneaker" game category. Widely copied once it was discovered that people actually LIKED playing games like this.
Just like Thief Gold, the atmosphere is so good. There is something about old games and the environments and builds and rooms and the old furniture that brings me else where. The gameplay is great. Music is also great. With it been released decades ago, I'm not going to be one of those graphic wh***s and say say graphics are out dated. But I'd like to see this game and Thief Gold remastered, so it's on par with Thief. You'r be surprised to know I haven't had any crashes issues or graphical issues. That's what I call a well made games. I recommend it to anyone who likes the Thief games.

Absolute cinema.
Thief II: The Metal Age is many things. But the first thing new players are likely to see is that this game is old. Really old. And the vanilla version of this game shows its age proudly. But it is also one of the greatest immersive sims in video game history. The first game in the series, The Dark Project, practically created the immersive sim/stealth genre, and the second game expanded on everything that the first one did right, while removing a couple of pain points and the more experimental segments of the first. This game is the perfect sequel by every single measure. The story is intriguing, the levels are sprawling and invite experimentation, the stealth systems are intense but feel amazing to learn and eventually master, the loyal fanbase continues to craft mods and fan maps to this day (some of which are considered essential to experience this game's full glory) and Garrett, The Greatest Thief in The City, remains as slitheringly cunning as ever. So if you are a fan of immersive sims/true stealth games and would like to dive into a relic of gaming history, then this is the game for you. "My heart, it ceases My breath, undrawn My eyes, forever focused On the sanguine metal dawn"
This is one of those cases where I let a games looks keep me from playing it and wow I cannot believe what a FOOL I've been all of these years. I love immersive sims like Dishonored/Prey/Bioshock, always seeking to scratch that ITCH these games create for you. That sense of exploration and rewarding experimentation. That feeling of your jaw falling open with a smile because this creative idea you had WORKED and was intend by the developers. Thief 2 is one of those games that makes you forget its over 25 years old. I can't believe how long I slept on this series
This game deserves to be mentioned alongside some of the other ground-breaking games of it's time such as the Halflife series and Metal Gear Solid. It takes the stealth genre and does something never seen at the time in creating a rich first person view and implementing stealth successfully around it. The core mechanics and gameplay is successfully realised and overall playing the game is a very enjoyable experience. As with most games from around this time there are things that could be polished and lady time has left one or two marks on the product visually but despite this I found the game very playable and an improvement on it's very solid predecessor.
Basically identical to Thief 1 except almost all enemies are human or mechanical rather than supernatural. Some fantastic levels—you get to rob a bank and several mansions. If I had any complaints it's that the story is mostly set dressing. "Go here, get the McGuffin, watch cutscene, repeat."
