Before I played These Nights Alone, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good

The idea for the game is decent, I like the idea enough to play it, but overall, I found the experience rather annoying. Right near the beginning, in chapter 2, there's a very dark room, and you have to turn on a light before progressing, but you can't see the light to turn it on. I took me like 20 minutes of slowly moving my cursor around and clicking randomly before I could get the light on. That's not fun. And that's not the only spot where you have to play hide-and-seek with a lamp. Puzzle one was an okay puzzle, albeit too easy. It basically just hands you the answer. But puzzle two could not be solved with logic and simply required tons of trial and error, plugging in potential variables in different ways that might work. That's not enjoyable. So the level of puzzle difficulty overall is not satisfying. The endings don't seem compatible with each other. The behavior of a character in one ending is extremely different from the behavior of the same character in a different ending. It's like the ending dictated the behavior of the characters rather than the characters dictating what happens in the ending. I made all the correct, logical choices and found out what happened to my husband, but apparently that's a bad ending? Or a neutral ending? It wasn't a good ending, and it told me to go back and make different choices. It's just an absurd place for an ending, and it doesn't make sense. A lot of things just don't seem to make sense. I've gone through a few endings now, and none of them are satisfying. I decided to try some more endings, and I followed the dev's instructions for getting to the other branch, followed them precisely, but it still took me down the branch I'd already been down and had already completed 100%. The Skip and Auto buttons do not work, which makes it a pain to click through stuff you've already read, and the Save button does not always work. I'm not sure why. Anyway, I'm out. I'm not starting a new game AGAIN just to get stuck with the same endings again, especially since you have to click through every single line of dialogue since the Skip and Auto Read functions are broken. I honestly have no idea how this got positive reviews.
Sooo... here we go. Story: ----------- We get a point & click based game, which connects a story thread, with a kinda cozy, deep feeling. The puzzles was pretty good, in my opinion, and sometimes it really puts you into a world of ‘madness’, which is full of betrayals and secrets. Our little protagonist just seems completely brokeafter her husband’s death and doesn’t even know what to do with her life. Soo, she decided, to found out why her husband died. ( Bc because every wife obviously starts investigating her husband about how her husband died in a *CaR AcCiDeNt*) I would say that, its actually, its not bad. Its not a Doki Doki Literature Club, where you just spamming the mouse to finally silence the characters, who ♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. We dont get so many informations in our story, just the basics like: "My husband died in a car crash, but he wanted to say something important before his death, but what?" Kind of thing... soo.. yeah. It is strange. The gameplay : ----------------------- The design (in my opinion) was pertty lame, averge, but.. in a point & click game its acceptable. The atmosphere was pretty good, its dark, and so much cozy. I think it's a typically one-time game, once you just sit down next to your computerm and just play this for 1 hour. (my english is still bad so... pls dont kill meh)
This visual novel is a love letter for both the medium of video games and the 'mystery' genre. The author brings us a story with an interesting premise, and a palpable 'lo-fi' vibe: where anyone can easily sink into the nightly ambiance. I can only encourage the author to keep up the good work, and to further improve the Storytelling in terms of multidimensional Characters, depth of Dialogues, engaging Story Arcs, and Immersive Worldbuilding.
This was a really really great game. It was suspenseful and really made me think. I was fully into the game the entire way through. I think this game is super unique and the story was incredible. I would totally recommend this game to everyone. 10/10.
So good! Kind of guessed what was going on, but it was really interesting! Loved the multiple endings.
