About
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH THE POWER?
🔵Play God!
Guide your fledgling sentient species (lovingly called “nuggets”) from Stone Age cave painters to star-faring explorers.
Command more than 15 godly powers to guide, protect — or discipline — your followers. Create devastating tornadoes, smite naughty followers with lightning bolts, or shake and sunder the very earth.
Observe Nuggets' every move as they work and fight to survive.
Research more than 200 technological and societal advancements.
Discover and colonize a galaxy of procedurally generated planets, each with unique ecosystems and challenges to conquer.
Manage the delicate balance of planetary ecosystems to help nuggets thrive. Your decisions and your followers’ ' actions influence global climates and have real environmental consequences. (Try not to kill them in an ecological disaster — well, unless you want to, of course.)
Unravel the layers of a deeper cosmic story that challenges your perception of who and what you are — and reveals unexpected twists!
The Universim is a strategy city builder game with “God” elements where you guide a civilization (Nuggets) from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Manage resources, dynamic challenges, and ensure your Nuggets can survive, thrive, and spread to the stars.
The Universim features more than 200 research perks that will help you to shape your civilization. Be as benevolent or malevolent as you like to drive nuggets to evolve, advance, and expand. (Even the best civilizations need an occasional smiting).
Every planet in The Universim is procedurally generated and offers unique characteristics and challenges, ensuring that every world and every game is unique and engaging. Ecological balance and resource management are critical to success. Nuggets have their own needs and behaviors you must attend to. Your guidance will shape how they deal with conflicts, natural disasters, alien creatures, and other civilizations. Their growth and evolution depends on you!

Reviews
The game has every potential and reason to be great aside from one fatal flaw: research. The massive tech tree in this game is locked behind timers that cannot be altered. You cannot speed up the research, so you hit a bottleneck pretty fast where youre just waiting to progress your civilization with literally nothing to do. If that mechanic were changed the game would be great, but of course its an older title by now and wont. Most of my recorded playtime is me letting it run for a few hours afk to let things research while i play other games lol.
It's abandoned, The moderators of this page edit this page about once every year (as you can see in the last edited tab) so steam doesn't disclose that this game is abandoned before you buy which is extremely scummy

Imagine giving a (completed) game a negative review for not getting updates any more. Kids brought up on live service games should not be allowed to review games.
I suppose it would be fine if they fully released version 1.0 before the full game was finished...... if they at least planned on finishing half the game they started.. "We want to clarify that we’re not stopping support for The Universim. We will continue improving the gameplay, releasing quality-of-life updates, and fixing critical issues and bugs. Seeing your love and passion for the game, we decided to spend just a little bit more time with the game and give you what you’ve been asking for so long - the ability to mod the game, which will provide you with the real creator powers you've been seeking from the beginning." sure seems to me that since its been almost a year and they haven't even released a bug fix update means the only thing they did was lie through their teeth and expect the modders would finish the game for them This game has more potential than most AAA titles..... if only they didn't give up halfway through and release an unfinished game only to take it off early access
Asked on their discord years ago if they are abandoning the game. One of them told me no... they lied
ABANDONED GAME DO NOT EXPECT UPDATES OR FOR IT TO GET BETTER.........if you insist on buying it still get it on sale
It was good for a while, but i wish they had finished it eventually. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth
Bought this in early Alpha and fell for all the fun promises the devs had to offer but 1.0 feels like 1/100th of what was promised.
I really want to like this game... I originally backed this project, I played from creation until they implemented save files thenforgot about the game. Jumped back in years later and after 13 hrs playing... Im not having fun. there isnt any game play, you cant place things where you ant them, its just chaos with nuggets and not in a managable way.
This game starts off well but then just kinda trickles away until there is barely any gameplay left. I'm not much experienced in god games, but I really liked the style and trailers, so I decided to give it a try. My time with it was not horrible, but it just felt incredibly padded out. A lot of times I was just waiting for buildings to finish or resources to reach a certain level or for research to complete. Sitting there and essentially doing nothing. I've reached the space age now and everything is kinda grinding to a halt. The powers I have feel somewhat meaningless, and no new powers have been added since the 4th hour of gameplay. All I've done is make rain, zap UFOs and move stuff around. The devastating powers like meteors or quakes are completely useless as other civilizations have magic shields and spamming lightning strike the the best way to down anything. Well, or you just destroy them as soon as they pop up and can be done. There are quests, but they just seem to stop popping up when reaching the space age. The systems of the game don't allow for really complex interactions, therefore they are mostly limited to getting something, killing something or keeping someone alive. The research tree makes barely any sense. You discover batteries in the stone age, but don't get better cementery infrastructure between middle ages and space age? Instead of having sub-trees for each technology like iron, stone, manufacturing, engineering, crime, cleaning etc. it all is woven into a super-linear research tunnel that might as well auto-research as you play without your input because of how little branching there is. All in all, the game is really stylish, but suffers from really bad pacing, moments of zero activity and not much to do, really. It's not horrible by far. But not being good is enough for a negative review.
