An amazing game similar to Fears To Fathom
This game wasn't bad. You can speed run it in about 20 minutes although your first playthrough may take you closer to 40 minutes if you follow along with the story and read everything. You will have to play through at least 2 times to get every achievement. The visuals are not amazing but they are not horrible either. The audio enhanced the overall feel of the game. The gameplay was solid nothing fancy but nothing was broken either. Most of the time you just look for something with a small arrow over it to clue you in to what to do next. The story wasn't bad and it had enough details to make it interesting enough for the length of the game. The controls where basic and thankfully you can run the whole game and don't have to walk super slow like many indie horror games. It was mildly scary and there are a few jump scares, 2 of which are part of the achievements. Overall for a $3 USD game this wasn't bad I would say in its price range its a solid 4/5 star game. You really can't expect too much from a game thats a couple bucks.
The Stalked, developed and published by Korvinrular, is a tightly focused psychological horror experience that leans heavily into realism and emotional discomfort rather than spectacle or traditional survival mechanics. It centers on a deeply unsettling premise: a woman attempting to move on from a toxic relationship, only to realize that her past continues to follow her in increasingly intrusive and dangerous ways. Instead of relying on supernatural threats or exaggerated horror tropes, the game grounds its fear in something far more personal and believable, which gives it an immediate sense of tension that lingers throughout the experience. The structure of the game is straightforward and largely linear, guiding players through a sequence of environments that gradually escalate the sense of unease. Exploration is simple, consisting mostly of walking, interacting with objects, and observing changes in the surroundings. There are no complex systems to manage or mechanics to master, and this simplicity is clearly intentional. By stripping away distractions, the game directs all attention toward atmosphere and narrative progression. The result is an experience that feels controlled and deliberate, with each moment designed to build upon the last without overstaying its welcome. What stands out most is how effectively the game creates tension through subtlety. Rather than overwhelming the player with constant threats, it relies on suggestion and anticipation. Small environmental changes, faint sounds, and carefully timed visual cues contribute to a persistent feeling that something is wrong, even when nothing overtly threatening is happening. The presence of the antagonist is often implied rather than directly shown, which makes encounters feel more psychological than physical. This approach keeps the player in a constant state of alertness, where the fear comes as much from what might happen as from what actually does. The narrative unfolds gradually, blending direct storytelling with environmental details that encourage the player to piece together the situation. Themes of obsession, control, and lingering trauma are woven into the experience, giving it a grounded emotional core that enhances the horror. While the story is relatively concise, it manages to convey a sense of escalation that feels natural, moving from subtle discomfort to more overtly disturbing scenarios. At the same time, certain elements are left intentionally ambiguous, which can add to the overall impact but may also leave some players wanting clearer resolution or deeper exploration of its themes. Visually, the game adopts a realistic style that complements its grounded approach. The environments are modest in scale but carefully designed to feel lived-in and believable. Lighting plays a significant role in shaping the mood, with dim interiors and shadowy corners contributing to the overall sense of unease. Sound design is equally important, using silence, distant noises, and subtle cues to maintain tension without relying on constant jump scares. Together, these elements create an atmosphere that feels intimate and oppressive, drawing the player into the experience despite its relatively simple presentation. The game’s brevity is both a strength and a limitation. Its short runtime allows it to maintain a consistent level of tension without unnecessary filler, making it well-suited for a single, uninterrupted playthrough. However, this also means there is little room for mechanical depth or replay value. Once the story has been completed, there are few incentives to return, as the experience remains largely the same on subsequent runs. The lack of player choice or branching paths reinforces its linear nature, which may not appeal to those looking for a more interactive or variable experience. Despite these limitations, The Stalked succeeds in delivering a focused and memorable horror experience. It demonstrates a clear understanding of pacing and restraint, choosing to refine a specific type of psychological tension rather than attempting to cover a broader range of gameplay elements. The result is a game that may not be expansive or mechanically complex, but one that leaves a lasting impression through its atmosphere and subject matter. In the end, The Stalked stands as a concise yet effective example of modern indie horror, offering a grounded and emotionally charged experience that prioritizes immersion over interactivity. It may not satisfy players seeking depth in gameplay systems, but for those who appreciate narrative-driven horror with a strong sense of mood, it delivers a compelling and unsettling journey that lingers beyond its brief duration. Rating: 7/10
The Stalked is a short, roughly 40-minute psychological horror experience centered on Kate, a woman fleeing an abusive relationship in search of safety. After retreating to her grandfather’s home, what should be a place of comfort quickly becomes another source of fear. The game wastes no time escalating tension, turning a grounded, relatable situation into something deeply unsettling as Kate realizes she must escape yet again. Mechanically, the game is very linear, but that works entirely in its favor. Objectives are always clear, controls are simple, and progression never feels confusing. I encountered no bugs during my playthrough, and the experience feels polished from start to finish. Atmosphere is where The Stalked excels. The fear isn’t built purely on jump scares — though there are a few — but on a constant sense of unease and vulnerability. The game leans heavily into emotional tension, letting silence, environmental storytelling, and anticipation do most of the work. This approach makes the horror feel personal rather than artificial, and the dread lingers even during quieter moments. Despite its short runtime, The Stalked delivers a dark and emotionally charged experience that feels purposeful and focused. The ability to interact meaningfully with non-playable characters adds depth and helps the story resonate more strongly. It’s a brief but effective horror game that understands its limits and uses them well, leaving a lasting impression without overstaying its welcome. — The Ember Archives https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45601239/
Pretty good game. Keeps you on your toes and has a great plot twist by the end.
This game made me appreciate not being a woman.
Yesterday, I took a big d*mp at the toilet. It was really big, much bigger than this game. The straining I did while I was pushing that d*mp contained a bigger story and gameplay than this game as well. In comparison, I had a better experience in toilet.
