The game you know and love. For Windows 10/11. In The Sims 2, you direct your Sims over a lifetime. Give them a long existence, or leave their lives in shambles. Guide their characteristics from one generation to the next.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Sep 15 → 5.43/day in the week after.

This was always my favorite Sims game since my young adolescence. It's still a great game even now. I'm glad they made it more compatible with later Windows editions.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've always loved the Sims 2 so much, I'm so happy and excited to play. It's very nostalgic and definitely a go-to stress reliever. Runs smoothly for the most part and has all of the wonder of the original :)
they took my kids away
i didn't realize it came with all of the packs whenever i bought this, i haven't been able to play it for so long because i have disks but no reader </3 but no issues on my end going to try cc and mods later will update!
I should I been made a review when I first brought The Sims 2 Legacy Collection but I really love this game so much. I would recommend this game as it a really good game. This game has a lot of soul put into the game. (I'm not good at making reviews)
There are a lot of small details in this game compared to the others in later series. I would recommend playing this game over the Sims 4. There is much more personality to this and there are new details I am still discovering to this day, such as toddlers being able to be in pet beds. It was also nice seeing them hug cats too. (I don't normally have children in my playthrough and was messing around with the Goth household). You can decorate the worlds (adding natural features and such) you want to play in as well as place your own lots or existing ones. The loading is swift and smooth and the cheats do work too. In regards to bugs, I hardly came across any. I did have one crash when playing with a large household but it is rare. The game runs smoothly for an older laptop. Its easy enough to add mods if you choose to as well. It is certainly fun without mods. Heck, it's nice to see a landlord pay for pizza and arrange a little gathering! A lot of complaints say its 'rose tinted glasses' but no, this game does hold up. I didn't play Sims 2 for the PC while growing up. I joined much later as a console player. This is a lot of fun. If you want something with more difficulty then I would recommend the Sims/the sims 1. Sims 3 for big open worlds. I honestly prefer the designs of Sims 2 as it feels like their identity. It is quite quirky and doesn't take itself seriously as you can see with the cutscenes in game. Have fun with it! If you are having issues, you may want to check the system requirements and the forums. I did not have to do anything to set this up so, I'm not sure why some people are claiming to have problems. There were lots of reports when I first purchased the game and again, I still not have had an issue with getting it to work. I do suspect it may be a system thing. It seems to work for those who have Windows 11 too. (I am still on Windows 10). There is nothing more I can say about this game as what you do in it is up to you. There are stories with memories attached to them that you can play out and decide your own 'ending' for the family. It's a Sims game. Their fate is for you to decide~
