About
The untamed wilderness of Alaska is beautiful, cold, and unforgiving. As a high-profile fugitive on the run, this desolate landscape is your only hiding spot, with your dog as your sole companion. But in these woods, the peaceful silence is a lie. The environment is not just your hideaway—it is the hunting ground for something that belongs here more than you do.
"The Pale Mimic" is not an infinite survival game; it is a linear, narrative-driven horror experience with a definitive beginning and end.
Your cabin is your only refuge, but safety is an illusion. On most days the core of your existence is hunting large game just to survive a little longer, with only brief respite at the cabin to plan your next move. On other days, the forest will have unexpected surprises for you.
When outside, the hunt begins.
When food runs low, you must venture into the frozen forests, where your dog is your guide and key to tracking anything. What starts as a simple hunt for game quickly turns into a struggle for survival. You will track, kill, and butcher large game, but this process is far from easy. As you stalk your prey, something is watching. Keep your wits about you, lest the hunter become the hunted.
You must bring the meat back to survive, but the creature is waiting for you to turn your back on the woods. It is fast, strong, and relies on a terrifying form of mimicry to lure you out. As a stalker, it prefers to avoid direct confrontation. It might mimic your dog’s whine to make you open the door, the sound of prey to trick you, or a familiar voice to lure you into a trap. Out here in the middle of nowhere, imitation is the highest form of horror.

Meh. It's fine. Its not buggy, or glitchy. Never crashed. Controls were fine. And it DOES work on the Deck (you just need to adjust movement sensitivity to HIGH). You are dropped into the Alaskan wilderness with your dog Rocky. The feds are hunting you and a local creature is hunting you. Here's the loop: Check the local news report for updates on the fed manhunt, take Rocky outside to hunt local deer for food. Return to the cabin. Rinse, wash, repeat. You'll need to shoot the deer (which is 90% of the "combat"). As the game progresses, the creature stalks you with a little more intensity each time you leave the house. But there isnt any stealth to avoid him, you shoot at him and it scares him off. After several weeks, and a few trips into the forest, you'll have your final encounter, which is automated. Then the game ends. As far as gameplay goes, it's pretty dang basic. The story is actually pretty good, and if the devs remade this game to add stealth and/or combat, this would actually be engaging. It's short though. Don't be fooled by my 4 hour playtime, I paused it to take a 2 hour nap and then got back in. If I went through the game again just for time....maaaaaaaybe 90 minutes. For $7? Sure, it's worth it. It will give you a couple hours of entertainment. There were a couple parts where they actually did a good job of building tension. But at the end, the credits didn't role. I'm assuming this was a 1 or 2 person team, but I still think they should add their names to the end. They built a complete game that doesn't suck. Get your name out there, take credit, be proud. Like I said, conceptually, this was better than execution. Make this game again, but add some actual survival components, you have a good product here.

Don't be fooled by the Refund. It's just not my type of game... but I think the Devs are talented and they did a good job here. I'm going to give it a Thumbs Up. The graphics are nice and the story is good too. It also has a great Price... Hard not to recommend. I don't think the game has too many weakness either for this genre. I like the creativity. Other Developers would've charged you double for this quality. I really appreciate that.. these are the kind of developers I want to support. I play some of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhzGVXIXAYA&t=4256s
It's pretty good. A bit repetitive towards the end, but still good. Long Live Rocky & Minnie!
高能不是很多 流程有点磨叽 但是结尾还算是挺好的 凑合吧
It's looking good so far, very excited to finish the game tomorrow!
I can't recommend this game on personal grounds. the video give voice acting for the main character and is nothing like the actual game. the demo tells ya all you need to know.
Was pretty boring to play. The writing is pretty bad and doesn't make any logical sense. Why a wanted criminal in Alaska would write a daily log is beyond me. This is just evidence... the creature stops going after you in the first part if it gets you 3 times? The gun glitched and wouldn't aim so it was useless. It's a repeating walking simulator of kill a deer / moose with 1 shot and that's about it. Nothing was scary, the dog was extremely linear and the rest was pointless. I like the style the game was going for, but kind of like a demo here of a college project or something.
This was a fun little Indie horror game. Definitely worth the 7 bucks I spent on it. It's short and sweet and well made for the team of one or so that made it. Make more please!
