Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Sep 3 → 10.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Superó mis expectativas
great game
This game completely blew my expectations out of the water. I was glued to the game and was thinking about it when I wasn't playing it over the 3-4 days it took me to finish. The atmosphere is incredible, I love that the game virtually leaves you alone to figure out everything on your own, and I had a giant spreadsheet to keep track of all the characters and all the items I needed or wanted to find. I think I found the other mysteries that you discover along the way the most compelling part of the game, rather than the premise that you're initially meant to find out, but I absolutely positively loved it. Regarding the ending:
I wasn't expecting it and it was a bit upsetting to suddenly be chased when I thought I was alone in town, but it didn't ruin the experience for me. I also did like the inclusion of Sofia's aid because I had seen her once or twice throughout the game already and thought that it tied things up nicely.
Ultimately, if you like detective/mystery games, like being able to make your own deductions and try to figure out everything yourself, I highly, highly recommend.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 16: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I revisit this game at least once a year, and recommend it to anyone who loves horror/detective/exploration games. I love the atmosphere, the music, the gameplay, and the constant haunting feeling that you're being watched, and that something has gone horribly wrong. Exploring the (seemingly) empty town to find any clue you can that can solve the case at my own speed only makes it all feel more real. It has easily become one of-- if not my favorite-- horror games ever. Every time me and my wife sit down for another playthrough we get more excited than the last time, and we somehow KEEP finding new things. It even feels like some playthroughs are more creepy than others. I'll never get over how dramatically the tension changes the first time you enter the hotel, where I'm constantly looking over my shoulder even years after completing the game. Some fear just sticks with you forever. 10/10 game, and I hope everyday for another game like this one.
Tempo bom q não volta mais
It's trying, but it does not have the sauce. I dunno, I gave it a shot, but it does not have the magic it needs to really grab you that a lot of its contemporaries possess.
I went into The Painscreek Killings completely blind, and that was probably the best decision I could have made. If you like detective games where the game actually lets you BE the detective, play this. There are no quest markers constantly telling you where to go or a character conveniently announcing that you've just found an important clue. You're given a town, a camera and a mystery. Good luck. 😂 I spent an embarrassing number of hours reading people's diaries, photographing documents, remembering dates, revisiting houses I'd already searched five times and staring suspiciously at random pieces of furniture. I even ended up keeping my own notebook beside me while I played, writing down names, dates, codes, relationships and anything else that looked suspicious. At some point I realised I wasn't playing a detective anymore. I had apparently accepted employment as one. 😂 There were moments when I'd suddenly connect something I'd written down HOURS earlier and genuinely go, “WAIT... WHAT?!” PLEASE play this as blind as you can. Some of the discoveries are so much better when you've spent hours building your own theories about these people, only for one tiny piece of evidence to suddenly change how you understand everything. I also wasn't expecting to become this emotionally invested. What starts as a fairly straightforward murder investigation gradually becomes a really sad, complicated story involving years of relationships, secrets and terrible decisions. By the end, these people I'd only known through diaries, letters, photographs and abandoned houses felt strangely real to me. For what I thought was going to be a quiet detective game, this got some surprisingly genuine shrieks out of me. 😂 At one point I was FULL-ON SHOUTING at my monitor. That's all I'm saying. I don't think I've ever gone from calmly taking investigative notes to pure survival instinct quite that quickly. Also, some interactable objects are VERY easy to miss. Sometimes the greatest mystery in Painscreek isn't who killed someone. It's “WHAT THE HELL HAVE I NOT CLICKED IN THIS ROOM?” If you're prone to motion sickness, I strongly recommend adjusting the FOV as well. I initially got horribly nauseated while playing, but increasing mine made a massive difference. I originally finished the game at 98%. Unfortunately for Painscreek, I took that personally. So I went back. 😂 I searched everything again, found things I couldn't believe I'd missed, reached 100% Completionist, and then went back one last time for the achievement I was missing. 33/33 achievements. 100% complete. I can finally leave Painscreek. ...although I will probably continue thinking about these people's family drama for the foreseeable future. 😭 Highly recommended if you love slow-burn mysteries, environmental storytelling, taking notes, making your own deductions and occasionally yelling at your computer.
I really enjoyed the game. There were some small things that were hard to find, in my experience; but if you are thorough, you can find almost all of it (if not all). The ending was not my favourite part (mechanically, the story is great), because i'm easy to scare and wasn't expecting the new mecanic, but after i mentally prepared myselfit was fine. Overall a very nice experience for the most of the 8h it took me to do the 100 percent. I recommend.
Excelente.
