The oracles say Christopher Nolan cries himself to sleep at night for being unable to capture the historical accuracy in his Odyssey as can be found in this game.
Sir, a second historically accurate game has hit the AAA gaming industry.
My grandma always used to tell me, "I don't care what they tell you in school, Achilles was a strong, independent woman." This game was a lot of fun! From a satire standpoint, it didn't have the same bite as Yasuke Simulator, but it was still an enjoyable little time. And the story did stick somewhat close to the narrative of the Trojan War, even adapting sources beyond the Iliad, which surprised me. Dare I say, it did a more thorough job adapting story elements from the Iliad then Nolan did. I also liked how they removed some of the more annoying things from Yasuke Simulator, like the Takeshi's Tower bits (although I do miss the Daruma Doll mascot, and I wish there was something like that for this game). I also liked how the character you controlled changed as the story progressed, although I do wish they had played slightly differently (different stats and such). There was a couple bugs (outside the intentional jank), but nothing gamebreaking (ex. during the first mission, when you pick up the pistol, it used the old dialogue box from Yasuke Simulator). I wish the Paris sniper duel had more feedback for when you hit him. Other than those nits, it was a fun little game! 7/10, I look forward to the DLC that takes us through Odysseus's journey back home.

An Ode to Historical Accuracy Achilles' rack, to Greece the wondrous spring Of joys unnumbered, heavenly goddess, sing! That rack which bounced so amply o'er the plain, A Grecian's comfort, and a Trojan's bane. What breasts were these that in the direst hour Outshone all others in their size and power? How stood she straight, by gravity unbowed? Sing of the woman, Muse, who was so well endowed! Bikini armor fierce Achilles wore As through the Trojans' flesh and bones she tore. Her pointy ears adorned her golden head, At whose fell sight the bravest foemen fled. She aimed her pistol true, nor missed the mark, And shrouded many a Trojan's eyes in dark. Whene'er was heard her shotgun's weighty boom, Another helpless soul had met its doom; And yet more dread, more awful, and more dire Was her black Uzi with its rapid fire. So swiftly climbed the numbers of the dead When Phrygian gore dyed Uzi bullets red That widows', orphans', fathers', mothers' cries Shook all the mighty earth, and echoed in the skies. When Helen's fatal eyes and shapely hips Unfurled the sails of Greece's thousand ships, Then brave Achilles crossed the stormy main With streams of blood the Trojan fields to stain. The lofty towers of Priam's fabled keep The warlike maid assaulted in her jeep. In all directions fly the Trojan band; The warrior hunts them over road and strand. No shelter could the pathless sea provide; The demigoddess walked upon the tide. Nor could the men of Troy withstand the force Of great Achilles' giant wooden horse. Through Ilion's streets it gallops and it neighs, And not a single foe escapes its horsey gaze. Before no king did dread Achilles kneel; Not man, but fate, at last brought her to heel. Today, fair hero, all shall know thy name And view thy deeds within this splendid game. The matchless scribes of truthful history Who told of Yasuke now shall tell of thee. The words of Homer from a distant age Are given life, and leap up from the page. On ancient times a modern light is shone As we today make Helen's cause our own: Each man, each woman, every girl and boy Shall join the Grecian fleet, and raze the walls of Troy.
After Yasuke simulator, this was exactly what I expected and hoped for.
the Benelli M4 was why the greek empire was so strong. once everyone else got guns, it was game over.
I cannot recommend this game, sadly. In general, this game is a worse product than the Yasuke Simulator. In detail: Good: Its Achilles! And other great heroes! Wonderful formed female models! It has good challenges like Paris Neutral: There is autoaim in the game and i haven't figured out how to turn it off Jeeps! No Beach Invasion is complete without Jeeps! Bad: The controls and movements got worse from previous game You have to hold the fire button to drive the Bicycle The driving got worse too, i can't really tell how, but in direct comparison, the previous game had better driving The same weapon problems from previous game are still here, but the Pistol aiming got worse if you go into First person view. For those, who don't know: Shotgun is king for damage and ammo count. The UMP should be a fast pistol, but the ammo economy makes the weapon useless as you get less ammo from pickups than you need to kill one enemy. Its not feasible to use any other gun than the shotgun. The Slave women, their line gets on my nerves after some time. Especially if you collect many in one go. In the end, the Dev delivered, but failed to make it better than Yasuke Simulator in the technical part.
Got a few laughs out of it and the soundtrack is lit, not much else to say it's a Yasuke Simulator reskin with zero new mechanics or weapons, recycling a lot of the same jokes.
Historically accurate.
Man, the HistoryAccurateDeveloper's (store page says HistoryAccurateDevelopers but it's definitely developed by a single person) skill in developing games is improving over time. However, I wouldn't call this game "absolute cinema" like in Rise of the Takeda Clan, and was expecting a bit more from the new series. For those who are fans of Yasuke Simulator and its DLC, Rise of the Takeda Clan, this game might be an easy campaign.
