The Message from Deep Space

Absolutely beautiful game. The love and care that was put into this is nothing short of amazing. The puzzles were very interesting and the diegetic UI felt very very immersive. Towards the end, the game was less liberal with the hints provided and some responses felt more like guessing, but that didn't detract from the overall experience. Me at The Message From Deep Space Love do!!

The message (from deep space) that this game tells is beautiful. If you're not good at math, or chemistry, or physics them you may struggle to understand some stuff. in any case, its a really fun game with logic used as its main mechanic. Would recommend

This game is absolutely unbelievable. If you've ever watched sci-fi and felt like they skip too many linguistic steps in first contact, this very well may be the game for you. The characters and environment are a delightful way to break up the pace, keep it moving and also facilitate some of my favorite "lightbulb" moments in gaming. This game is smart and charming and I am not done and I already have so much to think about.

Apart from a handful of instances of what I consider logical leaps regarding "what the author meant", and some repeated topics that could have been just cut to make the runtime shorter, this is an insanely smartly crafted and well executed exploration of what the first steps of making contact with aliens could look like. It also features a surprisingly large amount of dialogue just as well written, served up by characters that add a lot of charm that I didn't expect. Well worth the asking price and your time. And to reflect a bit on many of the reviews: no, it's nothing like Project Hail Mary. That movie (which I assume most people refer to) completely brushes over the translation process. This game is much closer to Arrival, or rather, Arrival on steroids. And that's a good thing.
