About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization

Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

A very intriguing premise which the game delivers on quite competently for the most part. There were only a few parts that felt like I had to guess what the game wanted me to say, but otherwise it was pretty satisfying to write a word in the dictionary and seeing it make complete sense of the signals. However, what takes this game from good to fantastic is the story. The unapologetic optimism and love of life on display here can't help but be infectious. I laughed out loud more times than I can count, and the game even made me tear up multiple times, both from joy and sadness. -245 -30 -243

Some of the puzzles are a bit iffy (especially puzzle 100) but I'm enjoying it
Damn good puzzle game! I'm still in early game (around 3h in) but it's already worth its price.
This game is amazing one of the best that I have played the characters are great, and it really captures the hope and excitement of meeting extraterrestrial intelligence. I felt genuine awe and disbelief at multiple points. The only real problem I have is the transmissions make no sense to me at times but that's just a skill issue. 8.8/10
Both the idea and the execution come together in a delectable cake that you can prolong over many evenings. The former easily hooks a sci-fi nerd in me, the latter had me keep playing well into the night. It's especially rewarding once the messages start going over STEM subjects you're familiar with! I'm just so happy that this game was made!
I absolutely loved this game! Learning the language over time is so satisfying. I really enjoyed the characters as well, they each had unique personalities and I was always excited to hear what they had to say. If you enjoy a game that might require you to pull out a physical pen and paper this is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed working through the math and science problems. The game is dense and really moves you slowly through all of its concepts to ensure your understanding. This was a joy to play! Wish there were more like it. Also loved the ending <3
This game is something special. GOTY 2026 - happy dictionary happy life!
This game is a once in a lifetime experience. It is somewhat rough, especially in the second half, where some puzzles aren't logical at all, but it didn't affect the whole impression for me. As many already said, this game is best if you go in completely blind, so stop scrolling the reviews and just play it
genuinely amazing, in both execution of the initial concept and everything that follows, can't think of any better example of "decoding alien messages" in a puzzle game or interactive medium. will be thinking about this one for quite a long time. if you're at all interested in this game: please, DO NOT look up anything else about it, don't watch gameplay footage, just hop in and experience it for yourself without knowing what lies ahead. you won't regret it, promise.
