If you're looking for a good game with engaging gameplay and a well written story, this is not the game you're looking for.
If you are, however, looking to waste a few hours and have some fun trying to decipher text written by someone whose english is probably a 4th or 5th language, then this is the game for you.
Pros:
-It's easy to play, just click through, read a little bit, no complicated mechanics to engage with that you need to worry about.
-The art is cute, and genuinely well done.
Cons:
-Cases are written horribly, females are referred to as he, names are misspelled or swapped, people contradict themselves in one breath (ex.: "I wasn't even at the incident! When the incident happened, I left because I felt scared!" (Yes, this is an actual statement from one of the criminals))
-An assassination/arrest mechanic that literally does nothing. Like, literally, as long as that chance is under 100%, you can just keep restarting the day over and over again until you don't hit the two 6s (which aren't even randomly generated, there's like 4 different possible outcomes to the dice) and live, and literally nothing happens, the game would be the exact same without this mechanic, just less annoying to play.
-The puzzles are so terribly designed that I genuinely cannot believe it ever passed whatever QA the dev(s) did.
For a lot of cases, you have to solve a little puzzle to access the evidence.
It is stated explicitly that they are designed in such a way where *ONLY YOU* can solve them, however, here's a list:
1. A puzzle about rotating some squares to form a continuous line from one point to another, literally anyone trying to break into the evidence case could solve this easily.
2. A puzzle where you connect some aux cables from the left to the right, the order is entirely unknown, except for the fact that there is a post it note sitting directly next to the puzzle that would allow any criminal to immediately open the case and tamper with the evidence.
3. A puzzle with 4 switches, no hints, no nothing, there is nothing given to YOU to solve it, you just gotta figure it out. The only penalty for *all* of these puzzles is a lockout and evidence destruction after some unsuccesful attempts, which doesn't matter cause a green light shows up if you did it right before trying to turn the key, again making it easy for any criminal to get into the case.
4. A puzzle with 8 (yes, EIGHT) switches that all have to be flicked in the right oder, semi simon says style.
Again, no hints for this one, just gotta keep flicking em until you stumble across the right order, there's not even a penalty for flicking a wrong one 500 times, so again, any criminal is getting in easily.
-Your wife and kids keep asking you for ♥♥♥♥, and I totally understand the little brat you call a daughter getting upset if you don't buy her the cool stuff she wants, she's too young to understand money and raised by that horrible woman you for some reason call a wife, but why is it that your wife looks at your current financial situation, sees how much all of you are struggling, and then decides "now is a good time for a 1000$ a week car payment, 1000$ for a new washer and also 1500$ for vacation this summer, oh also, if you say no to any of these, I will get really angry and your sanity will drop HARD"
Might have to put this one in the pro section for how realistically it portrays being married...
Overall, though, this game is a fun, quirky little experience, and while the flaws are many, and severe, it *is* their first game, and you can't blame them for making the same mistakes thousands of other people have made that would have been easily preventable by just thinking about it for 5 seconds and playing your own game.
Is it good? HELL no
Is it fun? Yeah, sure, and it being only 7 bucks doesn't exactly break the bank.
