About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization
Interface with a retro computer
Manage a user-driven dictionary

Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

Best most creative puzzle game ever made. I didn't manage to beat it, it gets harder as it goes on. Incredibly rewarding though. There's >900 messages to translate, and by around #450 you're communicating in the alien language in full sentences. Really good game
If you're a fan of Arrival or the language scenes in Project Hail Mary, then this game is a damn good simulation of what that would be like in real life. Can't recommend it enough

Remember and grief.
I barely ever leave reviews, but this game is an exception. It is an absolute masterpiece. If you've ever read Contact by Carl Sagan, this scratches that same itch. The feeling of discovery and actually putting things together is like no other game I've played. Absolutely 100% worth the money, and probably my favorite game of the year
It's hard to express quite how I feel about this game, but it's rare for a puzzle game to make me cry. This game is really something unique and beautiful. I was a little skeptical of how it could possibly live up to the promise of translating an alien language and building up to complex science, but it exceeded every expectation. The early game mostly starts with talking about mathematics, but I want to assure anyone interested that it all goes some deeply fascinating and creative directions, and really lives up to the fantasy of translating a message from an alien civilization. I also really appreciate the interactions with the humans on your team, and how open-ended the translation ends up being. I can show a screenshot of the game to my friends who've played, and the words I've chosen will be very different to theirs but still a successful translation. There's really nothing else like it, even among other translation games.
Math leads to Science leads to Language. One of the most unique logic games I've ever played.
never had this much fun decoding an alien message
It's hard. VERY hard. But fun :)
an absolute must for critical thinkers with passion for the sciences
