Credo uno dei migliori videogiochi che abbia mai giocato e l'ho completato in solo una settimana perché mi aveva veramente coinvolto. Ti porta gradualmente a capire un linguaggio alieno, partendo dalla semplice matematica e arrivando fino a concetti astratti, e a volte riesce anche a essere abbastanza impegnativo e proprio per questo diventa soddisfacente quando si risolve una trasmissione. Mi sono sempre domandato come avremmo mai interagito con un'altra specie senziente e questo gioco, insieme a Project Hail Mary, che trovo anche abbastanza simili, mi hanno dato una risposta. P.S. [spoiler] anche il finale stesso mi ricorda molto l'incontro tra Grace e Rocky [/spoiler]

My play hours are in a separate family account and NOT on deck. I'm 10 hours in and this is a peak puzzle game to me. Obra Dinn and Golden Idol are my favorite games in this genre, and this has a chance to land at that level.

Such a clear and defined concept for a game that I am suprised that it didnt already exist. A one of a kind game that I am glad I played. With the devs own words: "it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance" Good: Fun to solve the puzzles and learn more of the alien message. Puzzles constantly change and evolve as you learn more and are able to understand more advanced concepts. Wracking your brain to figure out what a new "word" is being added to the dictionary can make you feel dumb at times but also really satisfying when you get it right and understand. The team you have with you give decent natural hints, they ponder related ideas and concepts without telling you "reply with X". Even when they have suggestions for the dictionary, it is given in the form of 3 different ideas where you could choose to use one of the three or sometimes I would just stick with my own definition which I felt fit better. Bad: Could use some more QoL stuff. I found navigating to be a bit cumbersome. I found myself wanting to be able to have multiple things open at ones, like old transmissions, calculator, and/or the references. I found it a bit annoying that I couldnt copy any part of the message and paste it, since I suck at remembering specific numbers I would sometimes shift back and forth between the "message" and my "reply" several times to type out some long series of numbers. A real life notepad would probably have been helpful, or maybe having a friend along for the ride (other than the ingame team)

Super interesting game that had me hooked immediately, I was skeptical when I checked out the demo only to end up putting over two hours into it without even noticing the time! The concept is really compelling and does a great job of making every bit of progress exciting, definitely nailed that feeling of discovery. I'm still only part way through and have plenty more to go from what I've seen, but I can't wait to see it through to the end! The game does expect you to have a moderate amount of mathematical knowledge, as a warning to anyone who may be deterred by that and didn't realize it would be more than basic operations on that front. It's tough but rewarding, and I love how customizable everything is. It really makes it feel like you're solving this mystery and making discoveries on your own rather than just filling in blanks the game gives you!

a deeply human game hidden under a difficult, puzzly shell. Keep going, it's worth it.

If you're a fan of Arrival or the language scenes in Project Hail Mary, then this game is a damn good simulation of what that would be like in real life. Can't recommend it enough
