The Message from Deep Space

This game is perfect if you've come from reading or watching Project Hail Mary, and is a fantastic way to blend fundamentals of syntactical programming and core mathematical concepts. It's a fun family experience that engages young adults and even older children with the concept of establishing communication through common knowledge as well as helping to refresh their key curriculum mathematics skills. On top of this, it's stylish and works incredibly well with what is available to it. Accessibility options are good, and even if you feel the game is cumbersome at the beginning it's part of the experience (again, thematic to the time) of working and adapting with what you've got to make incremental change. Loving the game and what it offers as an experience!

great game

After being disappointed by other language-learning games like Chants of Sennar and Heaven's Vault, I did not expect to love this game so much. Neither did I expect to appreciate the human characters narrated in Comic Sans. And of course, I did not expect to cry so much at a puzzle game. This is a truly unique piece of media that succeeds at what it sets out to do: show that, no matter their differences, two parties will always find an understanding - if they share respect for each other and desire to connect. That makes at least 2 things they have in common!

What is this?? Why haven't I heard about it sooner?? This game is so odd and I love it! Great humour and funny dialogues. Like Chants of Sennaar but with science.

An absorbing game, may at times feel a bit like reviewing your school education but juggling word definitions and trying to find words for things that clearly don't match 1:1 to English words is engaging. Sometimes a bit picky about answers but that's what you'd expect from an alien probe that's basically a recording of inputs and outputs.
